Whopper of the day from The Regime

See post #36 and then start your own thread. Oh, and enjoy the Pinocchios.

Their line of reasoning is priceless. He claims he wasn't referring to ISIS with the JV crack. It is shown that that denial is a lie. Their response, "He didn't say that."

Cellphone video from several patrons records as Obama walks into a bank displaying a pistol. He hands the teller a sack and says "Put the money in the bag, now!"

Sgt Spidey/About Average/Sean Renaud in unison: He didn't say "This is a robbery!"

I never made such a claim. I asked for an exact quote an started off by admitting that I did think Obama said that.

That wasn't said.

The comment was that on average we think we can save up to that amount. And that was before months more negotiations. BOCare is still a net win for the nation though. So please keep bringing it up.

laughs.

Yeah..the math works...

As long as you mean from negative $3600 "savings" UP TO $2400 in savings.

"The Nation."

Who exactly is "the nation" but a collection of individual citizens all of whom have been impacted by this cluster-fuck of a law. Not as much as they would have been if he didn't keep selectively holding the anvil above the gorge until after each successive election cycle. More individual citizens have already suffered negative consequences than positive consequences, and the pain has not been dealt out yet.

Yet "The Nation" benefits.

Collectivist, much?

You now have the exact quote. Word for word. Complete with who he said it to, in what context, and on what date. Background is provided as to what was being discussed. what was in the news and any possible Islamist nut-jobs he was referring to.

If you disagree with Politifact that the administration's claim that "he never said that" is not true, I don't know what to tell you. The administration is lying that "He wasn't referring to ISIS when he said that" and you are promulgating that.

Yes BOcare is a net win for the nation.

And yes, now I have the exact quote and those words never left his lips. I do not disagree with Politifact. We all knew what he meant and he was referring to ISIS/ISIL/IS/Whatever they choose to call themselves this week.

However, and the point I was making because it comes up a lot with conservatives (not you mostly) is that exact wording is important. When Obama says "I don't have a plan for ISIS in Syria a specific and complicated situation and you come back with "Obama doesn't have a plan for the middle east, or the other fiasco of the day where a gang of mixed race beat up two blacks and white that OBama needs to rush down and decry black on white violence I demand exact quotes from the source because time and time and time again your side has been found wanting badly for the truth.

So can I get you on record that in 2016 it's gonna be a major push to repeal it and that will get you back the White House? Cus I expect your team will have fallen silent entirely on it by then other than aggressively making sure it's called the ACA and doesn't go into the history books as Obamacare.

No, it is not.

Exact wording, especially when often it is intended to be parsed or misleading is FAR less important than the actual meaning.

We know he meant to dismiss ISIS. He either wanted to mislead the public about the danger or more likely he himself underestimated them because he doesn't have a handle on what is going on. He now says he wasn't even talking about them. This is a lie.

He cannot admit that despite the fact that he COULD go to his intelligence briefings, he doesn't, and has consequently has no idea what is going on in the world where he is commander in chief of the world's most powerful military.

You could certainly argue that his do nothing approach to world affairs has merit. That is fine. To argue that he didn't "say" what he actually did and it didn't mean what it clearly did, because he didn't say this exact word adjacent to that exact word is silly.

The same people that ridicule Palin or Romney for not understanding world affairs give this guy a pass? With a straight face? You can do that with that crowd? Seriously?

Not surprising that you believe this...it allows you to ascribe any meaning at all to someone's comments.

Yes it is and I demonstrated why. But lets cover this since as a Republican you are fundamentally incapable of hearing anybody whose lips aren't wrapped around your mike. So I'll speak up.

Yes Obama meant to dismiss ISIS. It is a lie when he claims he wasn't refering to them. Though they should by an large be dismissed.

I never once argued that he didn't say that, I said exact words have meaning in a world where and I repeat "I dont' have a plan for ISIS/ISIL/IS/Whatever they call themselves tommorrow in SYRIA becomes I don't have a plan for the Middle East. When a mixed race gang beats down two blacks and a white and the problem is OBama's not speaking out against black on white violence it's a problem.

Yes, the people who make fun of Palin for being an idiot give Obama a pass for not being one. I don't recall anybody really talking shit about Romney over all on his foreign affairs. Other than we have fewer bayonetts.

I thought Vette was the biggest idiot on this board....get your stories straight you mini simpleton.

Or is it just the people you disagree with that are idiots?

You are a joke, just not smart enough to know it.

I'll guess that you don't attend intelligence briefings, so you must also have no idea what is going on in the world.

At least I bother to read what those that have attended such briefings have to say.

Obama spends more time golfing than I do reading about what is going on in the world.

I also don't speak for the country. He does. He gets a salary to do it. The least he could do, despite his own admission to being a poor student and lazy in general is read the summaries.

I doubt he has read the Hayek book I sent him. Sure, I sent it as a barb, but he actually could use some work on his economic innumeracy.

Prob from the same people who said we'd all save $2,400 annually with BOCare.

Notice how #StupidAmber made a few selective edits....."typical family" became "all" (i.e. everyone) and "up to $2500" became a flat "$2400".

^^^^ What he said. Just with 75% less snark. It's important to remember that was before months of negotiations that cut it down. As much as Republicans try to pretend they didn't "get" anything there was a lot of wooing going on, they just pride themselves on not playing ball.

They got nothing. They were offered nothing. They wrote not one word. They were given the opportunity to offer zero amendments.

Democrats (well the lobbyists that own them) wrote every-single-word.

The difference between the promised savings for the typical family versus no one getting any savings had nothing to do with republicans. It had to do with the fact that nothing in the legislation had any capability of having the effect that Obama claimed when he told that lie to get this thing passed.

You do not lower costs by inventing meaningless economic phrases like "bending the cost curve down."

After the promised benefits were not there (exactly as predicted) and the predicted problems were in evidence, it was because the design was and is fatally flawed.

Claiming that the bill is about making healthcare affordable, when nothing in the bill has that effect doesn't make it so.

Calling GMC trucks "professional grade" doesn't make them any less shitty.

That's pretty pitiful. He gets two rounds in every three weeks or so, which would be an average of less than 23 minutes a day.
