I have the sudden urge to create/write an elaborate adult fantasy realm sorta' story, but I can't seem to come up with any viable premise/plot.. Anyone interested in this sort of thing that might want to contribute a couple of ideas? :)

Ummm, a magical fairy that would grant one wish. Possible premise

1. A guy that has two or three pets, and he wishes that they became human. (Got this from Kitten Love)

2.A guy who wishes he could go back in time to when his Mother was a hot Coed.

Or maybe you should make one about family members who end up switching bodies due to playing some weird board game. So like Mother would be in the Daughter's body. And the Son would be in the Father's body.

Here's an 'off the wall' idea

A writer, writing a science fantasy novel creates a nonsense word like Supercalafragilistic, as part of an incantation.

As he types the last letter a flash and a puff of smoke erupt from the keyboard.

As he falls back aghast into his chair he utters the inevitable words to the rapidly solidifying genie hovering in front of him. “Who/What are you?”

The genie replies “The Great AL Harman, (Check Google to make sure your choice is innocuous) Genie third class.

Of course – “Do I get three wishes?”

“Yes, but there are conditions. I am the genie of the alphabet and my magic is confined to words. My magic lets you live the life of any character in any book.”

Take it from there!

What kind of fantasy are you talking? I mean are you talking more Supernatural/Buffy the Vampire Slayer or more Lord of the Rings?

How about a fantasy realm where there are no STDs; where all birth control is 100% effective; where women have multiple orgasms every four minutes (faster, if their cervix is poked); where everybody is fit, toned, and bisexual? Oh right, it's a standard LIT story. So, what's your fantasy?

That's standard fiction in general that's not at all limited to Lit except the multi-orgasmic part.

You read my mind! I actually meant more of the latter, Game of Thrones/Harry Potter type stuff. So far the ideas that've come in are more of the former, though there are some interesting story inspirations there, haha.

Well if you're going Lord of the Rings I would suggest not really bothering too much about the details. Name the world or Kingdom you want to focus on and then just write a story and if and when you need more details fill them in. Considering how much is written about Lord of the Rings we really only know a little bit about Middle Earth and we know based on the time scales given (they are on foot most of the time Middle Earth is at max maybe the size of Western Europe and probably considertably smaller than that.

If you're going Buffy then it's a matter of how openly is it known that we aren't alone?
