Actually a very good question. You should do a poll.

At one point in my life I was an NRA member who had never held much less fired a gun.

BobsDownSouth was allegedly in the Army- obviously bitter the Marines wouldn't have taken him. He should own at least one, he lives in Texas and I assumed they issue you one with the white hood.

RJ doesn't necessarily comment negatively about gun ownership. He has some, has hunted. Doesn't seem to think they would ever be handy defensively.

I think the whole guns are for idiots meme is a hold-over from the NRA handing Clinton the Newt Gingrich Congress. Ironic because the things Clinton takes credit for are all in the contract for America.

Has anyone tried out multi-impact bullets? I was watching this Showtime show called "the 7 Deadly Sins" and they had a segment on it. The outside of the round comes apart in 3 pieces. Each piece is connected with a metal fiber to the center piece. As the bullet flies, it unravels & spins like a 3-armed bolo as it extends to a diameter of 10 inches.

I've fired guns at a range. I fucking hated it the whole time.

I'm not against other people doing it though, provided they're responsible gun owners and not homicidal psychopaths or incurably stupid. Just like cars.

Unless you're a farmer, wilderness resident, bonded courier, private investigator, or drug dealer, I've never understood why people "needed" so many guns to "protect" themselves. Protect from WHAT?

Typical liberal winnie response. You and your anti gun ilk assume that people who own guns only have them for protection. You can't except the fact that people enjoy shooting the same way people enjoy golf, tennis or any other recreational activity.

My guns are just another set of tools and toys that I own.
