how well armed are you?

I own a 9mm Glock for target shooting and home protection.

Quick question,

where online do you buy bulk ammo? My last
online purchase was 4,000 rounds of Magtech
9mm from bulkammo.com.
Each case ended up costing $195 after online
coupon. That was just before the school shooting
in Connecticut. After that ammo spiked to
ridiculous prices for over a year. I checked that
site today and it cost $250 for 1,000 rounds of
Magtech.

I can't make up my mind on which gun to get. My friend has a Ruger LCP. My neighbor is a Glock lover, even has the logo on their truck, so they recommend the 26/27. I'm leaning towards the SIG Sauer P938/P238 right now.

Where I live if you are not prohibited from owning firearms, carrying concealed weapons of any sort is legal. After that, they figured sort of silly that switchblades were still illegal, so that is permitted as well. Of the few women up here, many are enthusiastic shooters.

So in other words, where I live is very safe and I have no need to carry one at all.

Glocks are made well. My brother cares a Glock .45 on the job. I think the SIG is engineered better and manufactured to more exacting specifications. SIG probably has a higher resale value. Both are common law enforcement choices.

It's a personal choice and a right which some choose to exercise and some not. The chances are when the day comes you will want or need a firearm you won't be able to get one. A Gun is a tool, only as good or bad as the person using it.

I have a brain. I use it to stay out of situations where I'd need weapons.

I am within two feet of a .22 pistol, there is a .22 at the back door and two 9mm within ten feet of me, and in the safe, not that far away from me I have an arsenal...

;) ;)

If you know the last number in the combo, you are a few ticks and a twist to some real firepower.

The 30.06 is under the back seat in the truck.

I think, like the prohibition on Marijuana, that the switchblade was connected with Hispanic gangs.

Nothing. However it was funny when my girl and I got into an argument with a wannabe MMA fighter at a mall kiosk. He kept looking at my busted foot like he was going for it.

Well fuck all, Luke, don't keep us in suspense...what happened next?

And yet with all that firepower, plus the three black belts you purchased from Good Ole Sensei K, you still shit yourself when a #ScaryBlackMan walks down the same side of the street as you?

A wise policy, generally speaking.

Often also what most unarmed crime victims thought prior to their experience. Most people that are former crime victims arm themselves afterwards.

I do not leave things unattended on the stove. I do not barbecue near bunkhouse.
I do not store flammables near the water heater. I do not leave matches or lighters where visiting children might find them. I do play with matches myself, but not indoors.

When constructing an analogy, I realized we do not have a fire extinguisher on the premises, and the baking soda isn't close enough to the stove.

This is dumb. Even though I am relatively sure will not have a fire, and everything I care about is stored off-site.

I have a loaner Walther in reach mostly to protect everyone else's guns. I have no need to carry since I could have my hands on a firearm if needed.

I have enough military grade weapons to outfit a SEAL team. I am armed at all times, but what I carry depends on where I am going. I carry either a Beretta 92SF with a 18 round mag, a Beretta .380 with a 8 round mag, or a very small .22 with 5 shots. These do not include the military grade weapons unless you count the 92SF, that I do not take out in public unless it is to a range.

The high capacity 92SF is 17 not 18 rounds. Just sayin.

I have no weapons. King Richard of Chicago said we couldn't own any. He spent millions of taxpayer money telling the courts that Chicago is not part of America and is not covered by the 2nd Amendment.

I don't suspect anyone else in Chicago has any either...

Can you explain that?

If you are out and away from home and not carrying ... how are you able to get your hands on one?

I have pepper spray, a very loud whistle, a set of 11 very sharp gourmet knives sitting in a block on my kitchen counter along with 8 very sharp steak knives and sharp kitchen shears (with triple-riveted high-impact plastic handles to provide a secure, comfortable grip!!.. lol.. Thanks Williams-Sonoma!!)

What I don't have, which I wish I did, is a guard dog. :(

Oh yeah, I didn't even mention the dogs! Two very large, very protective German Shepherds who never let anyone sneak up on us. And a mini-daschund. :)

Sorry I meant locally. Locally, someone has a spare one anyplace I could possibly go.

Yesterday I was planning on practicing with the Walther. Went up to the range. Some friends were there so I got to shoot the Walther, a SIG Scorpion, a Taurus CCW 9mm, a Kimber M1911, a high-end AR15, the usual Ruger mini14, an old snub-nosed .38 retired police revolver. I think there were 2 more 9s and a .40S&W. This was three shooters.

Guns are readily available. Ammo, not so much. We depend on several local re-loaders. Makes for some interesting hot-loads if you want them.

When I travel, It is usually to see the kids, so my travel times are planned accordingly and I stay in hotels.

I have business in the future that might take me to unsavory areas so I am looking for a SIG P226. I'm sure I could borrow the Walther if needed, but I don't want to impose.

PPK ?

Where do you guys carry all these guns? Like to the grocery store? The laundromat?

It is fucking freaking me out that I, or my kids, may be shopping next to one of you guys packin' heat.

Mine are all here at home. I don't fear for my safety, they're mostly to have fun with and shoot targets.

Camping? Well that's just smart to have something nearby in bear country.
