New Witness to Michael Brown Shooting

There's a difference between a photo posted and an AV, dummy.
If a photo is used as an avatar, there is no difference.

Excellent point.

A much more personal, deliberate photo than a mere snapshot.

It's a personal brand, in essence.

Such as your present one. Forged in fire, indeed.

I don't care where it's posted, if you have a picture of you in a Vette jacket holding a gun, you're a dumbass.

To you, perhaps.

Nevertheless, I think it's pretty clear to everyone by now that you pilloried a #ScaryBlackMan for having his photo taken with a gun, and that you yourself once posted a similar photo here.

Many would call that a #DoubleStandard

Ouch.

There was no mention in the interview of the reports. I think one of the things to keep in mind is the size of Ferguson - small departments typically do not have the resources of large departments and that extends to the PR operations. Major cities almost always have a dedicated team of PR professionals, with trained spokespeople and established procedures for events.

Ferguson bungled the opening days badly - a crucial time window - but absent other evidence I would suspect they didn't have any dedicated PR or Public Affairs officer(s) or administrative personal. Though possible they had previous shooting incidents, I've not seen any evidence (nor read anything) of such. It may come out later that they did, one of those things time will tell. It is entirely possible that the principles involved had zero experience in handling such events and that can make all of the difference.

You saw that lack of experience in the media as well - there was a point on CNN during one of the riots when the police were using the classic crowd control tactic of forming a line and then, behind the line having teams of arrest officers who, when directed, would swarm out and arrest a specific agitator and then fall back. This is a crowd control tactic that was invented by the British in the 1800's and is still in use today. Crowd control 101. Yet, the reporter was breathlessly exclaiming "I've never seen anything like this, they come charging out and take people down." I was amused at his inexperience.

The Ferguson Fuckups have gotten almost unanimously bad reviews for their inept efforts at crowd control. Virtually everything they did made matters worse. They will be used as a textbook case on how NOT to control crowds for years to come.

Especially noteworthy was their utter contempt for the media, as many police department experts noted, that was an attitude borne of a belief that they would never be held responsible for their actions.

no way. the board racists are on the side of the white cop. i'm simply stunned and stuff.

I like President Obama, but I hate black ghetto thugs. They are out of control. I want them to be slapped down hard. I want them to live in a constant state of fear, pain, and humiliation. I don't care what the police do to them, as long as the police don't get caught.

Not at all, asshole. I'm not a criminal. I wasn't accused of killing my great grand mother with a sledge hammer last year either. Aside from a few traffic tickets, I have no other police record. I own my firearms lawfully. I didn't display it while drinking or in the presence of others, and it was pointed at the ground in a non-threatening manner.

Many dumb bastards like yourself will take that my photo and make the most out of it to suit their purposes. Aside from that, there is no comparison.

It's a #DoubleStandard, whether you're man enough to admit it or not.
No amount of rationalizations and excuse-making on your part can change that.

Youse guys don't know the rules:

A black guy with a gun is a thug.
A white guy with a gun is a great american!

You stupid son of a bitch, that isn't a picture of Michael Brown. It's a picture of accused murderer and Oregon resident, Joda Cain. You're nothing but a 6' 4" sack o' stupid shit. Fucking idiot.

Help a white brother out here....When did you switch from #VictimBlaming Michael Brown to Joda Cain?

Did you forget to take your ADHD meds today?

And do you feel an affinity for Joda Cain (whoever he is)? You both seem to enjoy taking #BadassSelfies holding a gun.
