What's Your Age?

Well?

My partner frequently kids me about walking with dinosaurs. He's nearly 9 years younger, so I figure we straddle geological ages.

I don't know what your motivation for asking is (care to share?) - after all, we're all of us here younger than our biological age in our minds, aren't we - but I'll wager a bottle of good Irish whiskey that the average age on the story readership side is significantly younger (10? 20 yrs?) than on the boards, specifically the AH and possibly the PH boards as well.

So to answer your question, let's just say I could be your mother, SB. And why are you on the boards rather than studying ? ;-)

It would be hard to prove(let's face it, gender is always up for question here) but I would put your Irish Whiskey up against a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue that readership is around the age of the people on these boards.

If this was the bet, then you would lose against me. When I was 18, my stepmother said "You are the oldest young man I have ever met."

In other words, she was saying I was too serious and should loosen up.

...Obviously I never listened to her.

My grandmother used to refer to me as an old soul when I was around 10. By 16 it had turned into "What did that crazy bastard do this time?"

My grandmother talked about my father, not me. She knew he was weird. She said he was so weird, she thought he was maybe from Mars. Every since then, I've listed my ethnicity as Martian-American.

Mine is younger as well. Twelve years, in fact. In the beginning, I had a hard time with the difference. Not now.

As for my age . . . well, if SB is under twenty, then I could be his grandmother.

I'm slightly younger than dirt and count in dog years, so what would that equate to in human terms? :D

You know that bloke Methuselah? Well, he was in the class below me at school. :)

The bet was about the average age of readers vs that of contributors to the forums.

Lightning up sauce - yea, a few folks around here could use a dose of that.

I'm whatever age my protagonist is in the story I'm then writing. It varies from story to story.

Aaaand this thread finally has a comment from someone born in the last decade of the last millenium. Looking at the company on this thread, I'm off to find my pacifier.
