I wish I was a reader, but I'm not. All of those words...it's overwhelming, time consuming. Yes, I'm serious. I always wait for the movie. Sorry.

The movies are but shadow of the books though.

I'm sure it is, but some of that is your own imagination. And, if you've never read the book, you don't notice. And a movie is only 2 hours, with lots of moving pictures and people acting out the parts for you. Movies are so much easier. It would take me a lot time to get through a book. I've actually done it. My attention span is terrible. A 2 hour movie is a better format for me. I guess I'm shallow?

Hey, FurryFury. I've been meaning to get on board with regular reading and posting but have gotten sidetracked by a move. It will probably be mid-September before the dust settles enough for me to be an active participant. I'm interested, just buried under boxes and paperwork at the moment! :)

Oh I think you have depths my dear . . . after all you are so devious!

:D

I'm happy to hear you are interested! Come join us when you can!

Books always seemed so much more real to me than actors in a screen.

What are you reading right now? I'll pop over and check it out.

Maybe you could have some of the longer stories here on Lit as "books" of the month every now and again? I'd be willing to read along then. I've never found the books you discuss in the library right when it was the BOTM, because the selection of those kinds of books isn't that great here. Go figure. I don't want to buy any books, because I've spent the last 2 years trying to find new homes for my books.

If you discuss Lit stories, at least then they are readily available for anyone who wants to join the book club that month.

Yay! I love Seela's idea, am totally down for this :)

Would make it easier to find the reading material, I do look in occasionally but a lot of the writers have never heard of and most of the books get around here these days are romantic sm (thanks a lot 50 shades of crud)

I'm dyslexic so reading really isn't my strong point but waiting for the movie is never a good idea I mean have you seen Venus In Furs they could have read the blurb on the back of the book and got closer to the story line. Don't know how Hollywood can be so illiterate yet turn out so many scripts. I love a good book.

Sorry I am not getting notifications so I just saw this.

Our August 2014 BDSM BOTM is Kill You Twice by Chelsea Cain

Our September 2014 BDSM BOTM is Kiss the Dead by by Laurell K. Hamilton

What are you reading right now? I'll pop over and check it out.

That's a good idea! If people could share some of their favs I would share some of mine. I have put up one before that really moved me.

I know many dyslectic people that love to read but just do it slower or use audio books. *hugs*

I find graphic novels help to there are some very adult versions out there these days from fansadox through to some of the superhero stuff and even the occasional graphic translation of classic erotica

You misunderstand FurryFury's posts. When she quotes someone, she puts the quote beneath her reply. Read her last post again, with that in mind. It will make more sense.

No, just a misunderstanding. You're OK.

I should have said you were very, very bad and tell you to come to my house for your punishment. And you already know about my standing invitation and know that I ALWAYS leave the back door light on for you, just in case.

I keep thinking to myself...one of these days that doorbell is going to ring. :(
