New words

The interesting thing, and more pertinent perhaps to Literotica editors, is the paucity of words in English to describe the sexual organs and scatological functions. One would think that our teens would be coming up with a lot of slang for an activity they are practicing diligently. Aside from "hook up" I really don't know any new vocabulary suitable for erotic stories.

Cunt is attested in the 1200's, pussy from at least the 1600's, shit from 1580, prick from the 1590s (Shakespeare uses it), cock from 1300. Boobies is attested in the late 17th century, although boobs seems to be an Americanization of it from the 1920's. Tits is from Old English, but the first modern attestation is from 1928. Arse, from the 1300's, changed into ass by 1594 when Shakespeare had Nick Bottom turned into a donkey. (Online Etymology Dictionary)

Of course, the etymological practice of looking for literary attestation suffers in the search for "taboo" words in literature. Perhaps Literotica is doing a favor for the etymologists of the future in providing ample attestations.

I hope they're added to other online dictionaries soon. Mine don't understand most of those yet. Coqui? The Puerto Rican frog? What?

Coqui and those listed from mojito onwards, no. They look like non-Anglish terms being absorbed by our language monster.

As for the lasck of words describing sexual activities: I'd recommend a perusal of The Bald-Headed Hermit & The Artichoke: An Erotic Thesaurus and its 15,000 terms. Most are not dated so I'm not sure how 'new' any are. But of course word-wranglers like Dan Savage have enriched our language. I see a crying need for a canonical compendium of sexual syllables, yes indeed.
