So imagine a group of lit readers getting together and discussing all things lit.

Someone mentions you. The readers have all heard of you and to a man(or woman) they say "Oh, yeah so-so, they wrote....."

What story or series or essay or poem is it? What story do you think would be the one readers associate you with, the one that perhaps "made" you here, even if its in a "man that was weird" or one that was controversial in some way. It may not be your best statistically or your personal favorite, but the one people know.

So which one and why do you think that is, and....are you okay with that? Reason I am adding that last question is some authors start out a certain way and completely change gears and those first stories are sort of dirty little secrets, those embarrassing baby picture sort of things.

If things stick to the plan my tales, henceforth, will treat the dominant political parties as gangs fighting for control of a mythical city like Chicago a la Capone/Moran. All the characters will be bad actors and worse. I wanna be remembered for being over the top offensive to all.

For me it might be this:

http://www.literotica.com/s/diary-of-a-faithful-wife

It's my most-read story (over 32,000 views in three months), and my second lowest-rated (3.39). I wrote it after my first encounter with the LW crowd. I was feeling beaten up and generally horrible. I was staying in a sleazy motel, the kind with no HBO but free porn. I knocked this out in one night, putting in every filthy thing I could think of, cackling maniacally the whole time (I may have been a little drunk), and submitted in LW. The comments were so violent that the site administrators took down most of them.

After that I retreated to the gentle world of BDSM, where my characters whip each other lovingly. ;)

I have three that people seem to associate with me.

Bound I wrote it for a Valentines Day contest. It is a D/s story. I never thought it had even the slightest chance of winning but it did. It was a fun write to me but I had no idea how many people it would touch in a good way. I still get favorites and comments even today.

I Won the Lottery This story came from a place I did a job close by. The place was for sale and I took a look at it. It begged for a story. The store up the road gave me the female characters. It was just to good to be true. People seem to like it. I've rewritten and expanded it since and have it ready to put out as a novel.

Then there are my fishing stories: The Fishing Trip and Another Fishing Trip A lot of people want to go fishing with me. :D Or at least buy a boat.

With close to 200 stories, it's hard to pick and choose. I've written in a lot of categories, although I'm told my BDSM stories are my best. I don't know. I write what I want. I don't think I've changed much. I might even be a little boring after all this time.

Bound is what comes to mind when I think of your stories. It was the first lit story my wife read here and she sent me the link(this was before I was a member)

It was funny because that was 2009 and when I had just started writing and my wife had found lit and said I should put my stuff up there. That mine was as good if not better than a lot of what was on there.

Two of the first three I read was Bound and the first chapter of Doc M's student series I was like umm.....

Then fortunately I ran into some god awful stroker clunkers and said, "Okay, I can't be any worse than these."

Tell me about it. The LW crowd could put Desade to shame. When I came here my assumption was the real hate/violence filled crowd would be in Non/con, but they're fairly normal, the LW crowd needs serious anger management.

Care to answer your own question, LC?

No doubt it's Siblings with Benefits.

The series was a flop vote/view wise compared to the rest of the brother/sister stories on the site. Maybe 70 votes per chapter in the upper chapters when things like "sis has tits!" were getting 500/600.

But the series had a small loyal following and the first chapter(which did have a large number of votes and views) got me a lot of feedback along the lines of "Damn this is dark" and "Not for me" which was the goal.

But low read as it was it did garner a reputation as being a dark depressing train wreck and has a sort of cult status amongst a certain readership. Helped launch at least two authors here as well.

I took pride in it because it was different and I never let the low views stop me. I invaded the usually happy fluffy world of fantasy lit incest and gave them a big dose of misery.

Drug and alcohol addiction, mental illness, child abuse, violence, death, suicide attempts....

Also had two chapters reported and banned for pure violence which added to its "rep"

But since then I've had a couple of fairly large "hits" with stories that were romances, so maybe people would think of me with those, but that would.....be very upsetting:eek:

Would have to say that my series Pizza Boy at the Door is, and probably always will be, my legacy if I have one.

I'm twenty-one chapters into this work and still managing to get more views on new chapters than many brand new stories do even though there is no easily foreseeable end to the series in sight. Two (or three depending on the day) chapters are in the HOF and nineteen of the chapters sport the infamous H. I don't ever see being able to invest so much of myself into any kind of similar length story and be successful at doing so.

Even though the first half of the first chapter was originally my very first submission to Lit back in 2009, PBatD sure didn't start out with plans to be a lengthy series or romance. But when the characters take over, the muse follows them down the path, and you just adapt to the changing scenery.

If it is my legacy, I hope that it is seen that way far more for the emotions it seems to evoke from readers, than for anything else.

Some people seem to remember several of mine more frequently than the read/votes/comments would indicate.

This one:

seems to have scarred some people for life.

And my speciality, fifty-word stories: http://www.literotica.com/s/how-to-write-a-fifty-word-story

Jeanne D'Artois' memorable one appears to be:

I remember your story about the flood & the town tramp; it's brilliant.

You might want to have a seat. I hate to break it to you LC but I think you are at least equally known for "Home is where the heart is."

I know it's an Alka-Seltzer moment for you. Sorry.

Well, at first I would have had to say I'm best known for the fact that, unless they have been edited, I have more than a few spelling/ grammar mistakes in every story. Work in progress writer, mind the construction.

Ah...

Or maybe based on how many have favored it

My best guess out of my list. I have ones in there that I enjoy maybe more than these two but then they are "my" personal favorites and that wasn't the question.

I used to like you. ;)

But I was aware that one was creeping in on me. It was part of why I wrote Becoming my Mother's lover and Damn Red Dress which were tow darker somewhat disturbing incest stories. I was starting to be associated with sappy and "fun" stories.

There was a lot of that "concern" in my mind as well when I co-wrote Demons Driven. The final sex scene was downright vicious and I had more than a little "oh, yeah?" in it.

Umm....of course some of that was a little bit of friendly competition with my writing mate Ellie who caught me by surprise with her own rough scenes.

I really have no idea what people might remember me for... Oh well. Guess I'd better write more stuff. Or repost old stuff.

That's a difficult question for me to answer, but if I had to guess I'd have to say Final Breath, specifically the first chapter of the three parts posted so far.

I know that my one brief foray into the incest category has more views. I know I have another longer-running series that has 11 parts completed to date. And I know I just had my latest story take 2nd place in the Nude Day Contest.

But Final Breath has the most views of any of my stories, with the exception noted above. And it has by far the most favourites of any of my stories. Those numbers are modest in comparison to other stories on this site, to be sure. But I think they indicate that Final Breath is probably my best-known story here, and would for now serve as my legacy, to the extent that I actually have one.

Now if I could only figure out a proper way to write a suitable ending to the series...
