All:

It's that time of the year and the league has been renewed. Check your respective emails for invites.

Life's circumstance will prevent me from playing this year

Good luck to everyone.

Questions for the commissioner

I hope that you've had a good off season. I've got a couple questions for you.

1. In light of the unfilled opening we had last year and Lily O's withdrawal this year, are you going to seek replacements or reduce the size of the league?

2. We tossed around a few possible rule changes last year, e.g., draft order and changing the number of keepers. Might this be a good time to discuss and make any rules changes?

3. When can we make trades?

What offseason? I've been hip-deep in fantasy baseball for almost four months now. :D

To your questions:

1) We have 10 teams registered currently and I expect two more existing teams will register for this year's play in short order. Ideally, I'd prefer 14 teams - which means I'll need to recruit two, new managers to take over defunct teams - and 12 teams at a minimum.

2) I have to review what was discussed previously, but, generally, yes, rule changes are implemented before keepers are submitted and the draft is held. This ensures that everyone is on the same page going into the season.

3) The Yahoo! trade system won't work until after the trade, but, in the meantime, feel free to trade. All I ask is that both participants either PM me/post to this thread/post to the league page confirming their trade.

I see the light at the end of the long, hot, football-less summer.

Not quite as I have yet to go a few rounds with Rimmy and our annual "hey, I've sent you two invites to the league. Aren't you playing this year? "Wait, what? I have nothing in my inbox. What email addy did you send it to? Well, why would you send it to the address with which I registered to play Yahoo! Fantasy?"

It's tradition.

Of course. Silly me!

I won't be able to make the draft. Last game of the softball regular season.

Finals week and it's looking good for the rimster.

Even with T.Y. Hilton out and my tight end scoring 0.5 points, I'm currently up 25 points and to make it even better, the Cowboys are 45 minutes away from clinching their division.

This could be one of my best football days ever.

Do the new ones weigh more than the old ones?

Cowboys 5
Giants 4

Booyah!

Indeed they do.

Of course, the Giants aren't saddled with an inept owner. So, maybe, just maybe, the Cowboys' SBs are even more hard-fought.

*snicker*
