I listened to the Comcast thing. There's no way I'd stay on the phone that long with the rep. I'd tell him I'm recording the call, instruct him to cancel the service, then hang up. I'd follow it up with a registered letter. Done.

I would have told him I was moving to an area that comcast wasn't available. When he asked for my forwarding address I would just give him the one he already had. Done.

I would have told him to go fuck himself....and I've done just that sort of thing.

Just caught the Comcast one on CNN. (I turned the volume up so my wife could hear it from across the room--she's a Comcast stockholder.) I'm betting this wasn't the customers first attempt to cut the service, since he came equipped with recording and the patience of Job.

I couldn't get to the first two links, but just the titles sound great and made me smile. The comcast thing is great. Makes me wonder what kind of incentive their phone people have to keep customers. Or disincentive if they don't convince customers to stay.

Thanks for the tip.
I've edited the links.

That's what I did, except I didn't use the word "fuck" just in case our call was being monitored. ;)
I have no issue with using it, call recorded or not.

Telemarketers get extra special treatment if I'm in the right mood.

I prefer taking the high ground and doing it so it really goes right over their head. Calling them an idiot outright is no fun, but calling them an idiot by showing them they are an idiot, that's fun.
