i'm having tuna salad.

it's salmon for poor people.

I thought that was sardines.

If you want a better alternative to salmon, get basa fish filets. Tasty, inexpensive and the filets are huge. Makes for fvcking bad-azz sandwiches, as Eyer would say. :D

or eat salmon out of a can, same benefits, and cheaper

I had tuna for lunch and was already thinking about Maple Glazed Salmon for dinner!!

but i already made it.

but danke.

and i do actually eat sardines on occasion, but not because of poverty. it's because i like them even though they make your breath smell like a sewer.

Filet form is waaaaaay better, though. More versatile.

I eat sardines often myself. Usually in salad or sandwich form. I find that they're not cheap so much as being relatively inexpensive and I try to wait until they're on bulk sales so I'll get like, six or more cans at one swipe and that'll last me a long while. I get a brand that comes in cayenne pepper oil, makes for better taste. I'll also blend it in with tuna, which dampens the fragrant nature of them and that batch will last me for two lunches.

only 7.15 and i'm already so sleepy  silly hot weather. even napping on and off during the day hasn't made me feel any more awake. i may need a nap before bed time. sigh

Gonna be 30 on Friday. Fucking kill me now.
think it got close to that here today... the temp. display over in thechildren's playground always reads a little high - think the heat radiating up from the tarmac afftects it, but that was reading 35 degrees this afternoon and although i was only out in the sun for a very short time (the rest inside shops) my arms feel crispy skinned  dreading the next few days... but what about people working in fast food places? and hospitals? gawd. i'd die.

I've got a fucking wedding on Saturday. I hate weddings and hot weather so I will be a complete bastard.

Oh god I'd die working in a kitchen. Just die. Talking of food...just tried to explain the concept of mushy peas and mint sauce to a Yank. It's like plaiting fog. :(

Eating pork rinds is like eating puffed bacon. I should do that more often. Or use them for a topping on mac & cheese!! Brilliant!!. Pour me a Guinness.

I'm addicted to the Filipino version, Chicharrón. Better and hardier than the stuff you might get in a bag at the corner store.

This Filipino gastropub joint here I started going to, Jeepney, brings a huge fresh, hot portion of it out to you in a basket. It's not light and airy-crunch crispy, it's more like jerky that you'll rip with your teeth. You cannot finish it all by yourself. It's better shared with maybe three people. Excellent beer and drink food. ;)
