Why is Boehner even trying this lawsuit thing?

I just read an interesting article addressing what steps the Obama administration should take regarding this "lawsuit", should it ever materialize.

They should immediately counter-sue for Federal Rule 11 sanctions against Boehner, the House GOP that voted in favor, and their legal team for bringing a frivolous lawsuit rather than dealing with the issue politically as they should.

For those of you unfamiliar with Federal Rule 11, you can see it here.

They'll get away with it, just like they always do. The judge will probably have an unfortunate accident.

The common thread between the two is intransigence, obstruction, contempt, and violations of the law.

Boehner can sue as a private citizen and foot the bill himself, he can sue as a Republican and the GOP can pay for it, or he can move to impeach.

If he sues on behalf of the Congress, how will he pay for it? Is there an item in the budget for suing the executive?

Why don't you tell us what the obvious answer is?

The obvious answer is Boehner is jerking your chain. He can't sue the President and he knows it. He's blowing smoke up your ass to keep you distracted.

I could tell you what you missed while you were crowing about Boehner's non-existent law suit, but I'm enjoying this. You'll have to stay ignorant for a little while longer.

Like he has a choice about being ignorant.

Three years ago Boehner spent 3 million hiring a legal team led by Paul Clement to pursue appellate cases in federal court concerning laws that Obama refused to enforce. Democrats were opposed to that as well, but it didn't stop it from happening. Bone up on the subject, before commenting.

Speaking to reporters before Boehner confirmed the plans for the suit, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) labeled it “a subterfuge” meant to distract from other issues. At the White House, press secretary Josh Earnest said the lawsuit fit with a congressional Republican plan of obstructing the president’s agenda.

“The fact that they are considering a taxpayer-funded lawsuit against the president of the United States for doing his job is the kind of step that most Americans wouldn’t support,” he said.

Your tax dollars, hard at work.

Finally some content! Boehner is going to sue Obama for . . . not implementing Obamacare fast enough.

House Republicans will base their lawsuit against President Barack Obama on the administration’s “unilateral” decision to delay the employer mandate provision in Obamacare, Speaker John Boehner said Thursday.

Rules Committee Chairman Pete Sessions (R-Texas) released a draft resolution that would authorize the House to move forward with a case against Obama for what House Republicans are characterizing as a broad abuse of executive power. The resolution will be considered by the committee next week and a vote on the House floor is expected by the end of July.

Do you support using tax dollars for this lawsuit?

Tax "dollars" is a phrase used for sums above nominal rounding errors.

1) "For overstepping the bounds of his job"

2) "Obstructing the Presidents Agenda"

...misstates the relationship between any President and his Agenda. The President's Agenda is what you type at the top of the page for the meeting you call with lawmakers to discuss things that you would like them to attend to in a legislative session. You can ask nicely, you can threaten, you can be a dick..but all you can do is ask.

"Your name is Josh Earnest? Seriously, Kid?" -Me
