Filling out a form makes you complicit in abortion

On Monday, the court ruled that businesses can opt out of covering contraceptives under the new health care law because of religious objections to birth control. The court suggested that businesses can file a form with their insurer claiming an exemption based on religious beliefs. That's an alternative that nonprofits like schools and hospitals are already using. And it could give women access to contraception. But yesterday, the court went even further in a case that's still on appeal. It said a Christian college in Illinois could skip the form and simply write a letter to the federal government. The college claims that filling out the form to an insurer makes it complicit in providing birth control. The courts three female justices were not happy. In their dissent, Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote that the court, quote, "retreats from the position it took on Monday."

And your reason is because women's health shouldn't be part of health insurance? Or some other reason?

My reason remains the same as it always was, government should not compel me to purchase a product.

Abortion is the Holy Sacrament of the Left and this issue isn't about women's health, that is a political claim to rouse the base for the election.

No woman is compelled to work for an employer that is opposed to abortion.

For just a little while longer, we're still a free country.

I love the way AJ steps right up and tells women how to believe and behave.

You are a fucking caveman.

No, I stated how the Democrat Party is behaving over the issue and why.

I told no woman what to do with her body, life, liberty or property.

If you're going to deny reality there's no point in discussing it with you.

Just make cogent points. There are more lawsuits working their way through the system.

;) ;)

Stop being so one-sided in your black and white viewpoints. Abortion is a baby's health issue.

Surely you didn't just notice that about him...lol

His reality is very fluid...it changes as necessary to suit his purpose.

Of course, I'm saying that with all the hate I can possibly muster, according to him.:rolleyes:

Meanwhile JP Morgan Chase is sending a questionnaire out to ALL EMPLOYEES

asking among other things

ARE YOU AN ALLY OF THE LGBT community!

Think about THAT

Fill out a form, write a letter, why is this a big deal?

Because it is about abortion and Obama is having trouble firing up his base, so an issue must be invented...

;)

... I was watching the talk shows yesterday and even the NPR ladies were saying that this is what is going on; go back to screaming loud, long and hard...

THEY HATE WOMEN'S HEALTH ISSUES!!!

You throw out words like reality and ignorance, but fail to explain what you believe they are.
Your ignorance about the reality of birth control.

It doesn't matter what I "believe". You're perfectly capable, I assume, but maybe not, of doing some research in to the science of them. Try that, rather than channeling republican talking points.

But I know you won't, because it's very unlikely anyone really doesn't know it today, even you. It's just a matter if a person is going to:
1. Recognize scientific/medical fact
or
2. Deny it because it doesn't fit their political or religious views.

I'll even spoon feed you to start, then you're on your own.

If you still can't figure it out, hire a tutor, don't come back to me.

meanwhile they cover 16 of 21 available BC pills

only ABORTION pills they don't

FACTS

now FUCK OFF

Condescension does not mean that you are winning your "argument." I know full well how contraception works and this issue has not one fucking thing to do with contraception other than the abhorrence of a few methods that are abortion-inducing.

Why do you hate life so much?

What I see here is the contingent that screams REPUBLICANS WILL NOT COMPROMISE telling us that there will be no compromise with them, ever...

;)

DON'T TELL US HOW TO HOLD THE MOP!!!

I'm going to have to fire up my other 'puter and take a look at that form (EBSA Form 700) as that seems to be the issue under contention.

And of course they're all on about 'denial of health care to women.' Even though no one's been denied anything to the best of my knowledge. The logic seems to run, "If I can't get it for free, then it's the same as being denied getting it at all." The "it" could be damn near anything you want to mention.

Education is central to women's health issues.

All it is is a simple form stating, in essence,
I certify that, on account of religious objections, the organization opposes providing coverage for some or all of any contraceptive services that would otherwise be required to be covered; the organization is organized and operates as a nonprofit entity; and the organization holds itself out as a religious organization.

They fill it out (takes about 1 minute) and then mail it to their insurance provider.

So is transportation to and from the doctors office.

"And it's important also to make health a human right because the main health determinants are not health care but sanitation, nutrition, housing, social justice, employment, and the like."

Like East Germany, we need government to guarantee full employment, and it should be employment with "a living wage."
