FAWC 5: Line, Please!

I thought Justice was asking if there'd be a notice about the FAWC stories on the Lit homepage.

There hasn't been one in the past.

Ah, my mistake, then. Yes, it would be nice if there was a FAWC announcement on the front page, but I don't think that will happen.

Everybody knows how I won. I blew the judges.

Funny. You'd think I would remember that.

Oh, the JUDGES. *facepalm*

I thought you meant the organizer . . . .

Hee hee. Summer looks good on me, doesn't it. I'm way more fun when I'm away from kids and their parents!

Heh, I can hardly call a repeat contest winner my peer. ;)

Funny story.

I know the experts say that it's better to use words like "penis" and "testicles" with your children, but we're not good parents. Our boys call their private parts their "pee-ers" and their "nutty buddies."

We were in the car recently, and there was a commercial on the radio for a retirement community. Among the selling points was "plenty of fun-filled activities with your peers."

There was a pause, and then my 5 y/o son let out this low chuckle. It took a minute for the adults to understand what was so funny, but we were all howling when we realized that he was thinking about the fun things he could do with his pee-er.

As I said, we're not good parents.

Hoo, boy . . . .

Alright, all TWENTY-FIVE stories have been submitted. I had to tweak some of the titles and description lines to make them fit, and some tags are not allowed ("death," for instance), so they had to be left out.

Also, on one story, it did not technically begin with the given line, which was the main part of the challenge, so I had to edit out a previous paragraph. On another, the line had been rearranged, so I edited it to reflect the original line.

Other than that, no hitches.

Thank you, everyone, for sticking to the formatting. That makes going through the whole submission process with this many stories so much easier.

If all goes well, we should see our stories posted in a few days. I am leaning toward giving us more than a week before they are taken down this time. Maybe ten days. We'll see.

As I am the only person who has thus far seen all the stories -- even if I really did just skim them since I didn't have the time to actually read through every single line -- I want to say I'm gladdened by the variety in the stories. There's sci-fi, fantasy, humor, horror, romance, incest, mature, lesbian, nonhuman, BDSM, transsexual . . . almost every category on Lit, it seems.

And one very unusual piece that threw me for a loop when I first skimmed through it. You'll know it when you see it. (and yes, I know that means I'm outing myself for not having written it) ;)

That just makes me want to read them tonight more!

Think we'll need a final list of the authors who are represented with works.

Really cool that one simple line can generate so many different ideas for stories.

I'll add my thanks to you for organizing this, and I'm sure I'm not the only one looking forward to seeing all the end products.
