FAWC 5: Line, Please!

Wow! Is that the most ever?

I think this one appealed to a lot of people, because once you worked through that first line, you could write any kind of story you wanted to.

I'm really excited to check out the variety! :)

Lit was acting very strangely for me, too, earlier. And my internet connection was going in and out, which was making me very nervous, as it was down to the wire for me. As always. Nothing like that rush of rushing to edit!

There seems to be quite a bit of it.

I wanted to offer a line that could work in any context. I guess I succeeded. ;) But I don't think I anticipated just how well that singular line would appeal to writers. Just by glancing through the submissions, I am seeing an impressive amount of variety.

For about the last week, Lit has been going down for me (don't take that the wrong way) around midnight every night. I'm hoping that particular problem will be cleared up soon.

Yep, I've noticed that, too.

Goodnight, everyone! Can't wait to start reading stories in a couple of days!

Twenty-four stories, probably going live Friday night? It's going to be a busy reading weekend!

So, we keep quiet on the forum and in the comments for individual stories for a week and then do a big reveal next Friday?

I tend to comment on all the stories i read (I usually get through all of them but I don't think we have had this many before) including my own, but everyone is different. generally speaking no outing which is yours until the big reveal though... here or in the comments. ;)

I've been getting blamed for everything for the past 17 years, so I am used to it. Besides, once and a while you gotta take one for the team.
You know the worst part about getting blamed for shit? It's when they're right! What the hell are we supposed to do then?

20 something stories? That's a lot of reading. Can't wait to see the variety though.

...I think FAWC should just like, have its own category now. It has already conquered chain stories. That's pretty cool.

Are we getting mentioned on the front page? That would vector some readers onto our stories...

Oh, honey. It's way longer than that. It's more like 25. And a half.

Or even a "Challenge" category. Chain stories implies that they're linked. The fawcs and tag team are stand-alone stories.

But the site is moving to tags instead of categories.

We'd have to promote slyc or something if that happened. I can't organize a band rehearsal or a friggin fishing trip let alone an anonymous writing contest. Thanks to slyc for his hellish Wednesday.

Did you get one in for this one?

Sorry for not being on. It turned out to be an extremely hectic morning and afternoon. I've only now just sat down to start uploading the stories.

The stories will remain anonymous until the "big reveal" in about a week (or maybe longer, considering how many stories there are). After that, they will be either moved to the original author's account or deleted (your choice).

Hell. No.

Hmm, I vote maybe a little longer than a week? I know that's kinda stretching things, but it'd be awesome to read them all. I mean I read pretty fast but....

Hell. No.

I thought Justice was asking if there'd be a notice about the FAWC stories on the Lit homepage.

There hasn't been one in the past.
