Anyone have any experiences with wax, or lotion hair removal? Worried about the reaction to my balls mostly, and shaving them is such a pain.
Do you ladies prefer a smooth man, or something more natural?
It is very sexy feeling smooth, but I go for long periods just letting it grow too.
Considering hair removal alternatives,,,,

I've tried everything, and settled on regular waxing. It lasts longer and you get really smooth.

The lotions can yield good results, but the hair grows back pretty quickly and you have to be really careful not to get chemical burns.

I get my waxing done by a pro.

There are a ton of great hair removal threads in The Blank Manual sticky. :)

You could try a product like Magic Shave powder (threads on it in the link above) after doing a patch test, although your best results will likely be from professional waxing or laser hair removal. There are frequently great deals on waxing and laser removal on sites like Groupon, by the way - just make sure you read reviews on the place before buying a deal from them (most are good, but some aren't).

I definitely prefer a man to be waxed. And there is little like the sensation of a freshly waxed cock rubbing agains your bare labia majora.

I can't really tell you how much it hurts, etc... I do know finding waxers is a little harder for men. I can definitely tell you though that it is a huge turn on for some ladies.

If you're a guy and you want to wax your balls, you'd better have a high threshold (or tolerance) for pain.

I prefer some manscaping. Every time I see a totally bald one I can't stop laughing because it just looks funny.

I use a hair trimmer, then my electric razor, to get a close shave, after all its just like shaving your face;) I would never use wax, but have considered a hair removal cream. I cant stand hair in my mouth ;)

like shaving my face,,,,eh.

Sort of,,and I have shaved,,trimmed etc. But my balls in particular seem hard to do. Not like puffing your cheek to make it firm and smooth, I sort of stretch the skin and bit and go very gingerly, hoping not to nick.
Waxing sounds uncomfortable, but might also provide some level of eroticism?
Anyone experience that?

By lotion, are you referring to depilatory cream? Magic Shave is known for a powdered cream that you mix yourself. I found a premixed cream of theirs that worked pretty well. I tried to find another container, and it looks like they've changed their formula.

I've found that hair in the growing phase is virtually painless to pluck. If your do an initial close trim, shave, or depilatory cream, then the newly grown stubble that grows will be almost painless to pluck with tweezers.

I have tried Shaving, hair removal lotions and being waxed and i definitely prefer the Brazilian waxing. It is fast and leaves me really smooth. The discomfort lasts a few seconds and is equal to a slap on your arm. The chick that does me is great

waxing is wonderful ,such a smooth result if you dont mind a brief moment of pain ,otherwise hair removal cream works well , just follow the instructions so you dont leave it on too long .

How often does waxing need to be repeated? Does repeated waxing affect regrowth? Effect? Shit, I never get that right.

It's uncomfortable the first time, but only for a little while. If you do it regularly, it's not bad at all. Some people like to take a couple of Advil an hour before. I don't bother.

The first esthetician I went to was an old hippie, and she was very clinical. She kept everything that wasn't being worked on at the moment on covered with a towel. She 'created positive energy' with aromas and new age surroundings. My current one doesn't do any of that, and has me get into positions that allow her access to do her job quickly. I was a little surprised at this at first, but she knows what she is doing and the results are fantastic. It is erotic on some level, but remember she is just doing a job. Most adult guys can keep themselves under control.

I think she's 'delightfully whacky', sort of like Flo in the insurance commercials. She told me she enjoys her work. I look forward to my visits.

Waxing probably works the best, depiliatory creams only last a few days before the stubble comes back, plus they easily can cause chemical burns (they say right on the label don't use in the genital areas, around the nipples).....shaving is a pain in the neck, and will grow back fast.

I never got my balls and surrounding area waxed, but did do full body waxes, and it is pretty intense. Once you get into it, though, endorphins kick in and it isn't too bad. You probably won't have what I did with full body waxes, my body because of the amount being done would run a fever....and the key is finding someone good, check reviews. If you can find someone who uses organic waxes, I would recommend that, some of the waxing places use this cheap commercial wax that can cause irritation and reactions (the ubiquitous nail places in my area that do waxing often use crap waxes). And yeah, the hair does grow back finer when you do it regularly.

Laser is an alternative, and unlike waxing, the hair quantity is reduced over time, while laser still is not as good as electrolysis in terms of permanence, it has gotten to the point where the technology is good enough, and the cost has dropped enough, to make it cost effective (in the old days, given the cost, it was basically a longer lasting wax job IMO). You could theoretically do needle electrolysis, but that takes a long time, is costly, and is not without its own form of discomfort, talking probably hundreds of hours for the whole genital area......

In terms of pain, you could try and get a good lidocaine cream like Emla cream (that unfortunately for some reason is prescription only, given what it is in it, doesn't make sense to me except to boost drug company profits, might be able to get it online),you would put it on the area before the treatment, it is a bit awkward that you would need to cover it (for the balls I would use saran wrap, and tie it around with string or something, relatively loosely), but it does help deaden the pain. I used to use it on my upper lip area, which is quite sensitive, when I started electrolysis, eventually I got used to it:)

Luckily I'm not a hairy guy. For the pubic area definitely wax. I also get my wife to wax what little chest hair I have. My balls only have a little soft peach fuzz baby hairs that I don't touch. Wife says if we started shaving it, it would grow back more.

Affect: verb (used with object)

to act on; produce an effect or change in: Cold weather affected the crop

Effect: noun

1-something that is produced by an agency or cause; result; consequence: Exposure to the sun had the effect of toughening his skin.

2.-power to produce results; efficacy; force; validity; influence: His protest had no effect.

The proper term would be affect. You could use effect if you were to say that you found waxing to be "effective".

No way am I waxing, it will stick to trimming short ever 7 days, with my hair timmer and electric shaver.:D

Here is a little about my grooming history. I was a shaver for about 10 years. Then, about 14 years ago, my wife (a shaver/trimmer for 15 years) bought an epilator made by Braun called Silk-epil. So I gave it a try. I have very thick pubic hair, so when I first tried the Braun, it was too painful…pulling at too many at once. But I persevered! First, instead of using the machine to pluck everything, I did each hair with tweezers. That took about a week of many small sessions. My wife suggested using a topical spray to deaden the skin a little. So I tried spraying Solarcaine on a few minutes before beginning with the Braun.

About a year ago, the Braun epilator died after years of faithful service. My wife had a newer Braun which I tried. Unfortunately, the design of the head is different than the older model. The newer Braun’s head is not as smooth, it has nooks and crannies which are supposed to help with flat laying hair. But the scrotal skin is not smooth enough for the head to move over without nicking the skin. Ouch. So I went back to shaving. I missed the smoothness of epilation, so I started researching other brands. A year ago I found one from Phillips which has a smooth head. I ordered one online and started the tweezer plucking routine again to get prepared for the epilator. The Phillips does the job and I am again a very happy smoothie!

For me, epilation works great. There is very little pain initially, then even that discomfort ceases. The results are much better than shaving. I only have to groom once every week or two, and when it grows back there is no itching. Plus, it is far smoother than shaving.

Trim the bush and tend the garden hehe.
Yeh I agree with Rainshine trimmed is good. Bare hmmm not too keen. But for god sake don't use Veet :D

i use a trimmer...have to stretch the skin on my balls...but manage to keep it close...

using wax doesnt appeal

Totally hairless reminds me (and Lady C) too much of a plucked goose.

You have to be able to take your genitals seriously!
