notifications

Hi all,
There probably is another thread somewhere, but I could not find one.
Is there any way I can program a notification, let's say, to receive a notice when a new story is published by one of my favourite authors? Or specifically, a new story in a series that I like?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have never found anything in my options panel giving me the ability to do that. Though it is a good one that might be worth passing up the chain to laurel and see if it is something that could be added.

The only other option would be to, perhaps weekly click on your list of authors and see if anything new has posted.

I'm little more than a rank rookie relative to some members here, however, my understanding is that the forum is a separate website to the stories posted. As far as I know, there isn't any way to "like" an author or story and get updates via the forum.

Likewise, there seems to be no "RSS" to get updates on desired stories or authors.

If someone figures out a RSS feed or otherwise, let me know. I would be interested.

I know you can use Google Search to find things on the forums and on the site. Maybe you could set up a 'Google Alert' to let you know when specific content is added on this domain?
I don't know if the options for setting up alerts are that specific or not but it would be worth a look--maybe to be notified by author name or something?
It would definitely take some tweaking if you're favorite writers post a lot or you'll be getting email every time they do that as well as when they add a story!
