I've been toying with this idea for a while, but it has not coalesced into a story yet:

Established by Pope Alexander VI, there is a secret order of nuns whose mission is to provide society and comfort to Catholic priests, bishops, and cardinals. Once a year members of the clergy are permitted to spend one week at their convent in the Italian Alps. The days are spent in quiet prayer, but when the sun goes down the clothes come off and it's sex until dawn. This has gone on for hundreds of years, unknown to most of the world.

Faced with declining recruitment of new priests, the Vatican comes up with the idea of using the secret sisterhood as a recruiting tool, similar to how universities use hostesses to recruit athletes.

That's the concept. It needs a story.

Once a year works, otherwise it becomes a habit.

There, I beat Carny to it!

I'm torn on this. I think it is a good idea and could be fun if done right.

But the catholic religion appalls me to the point I could not really let my muse wrap around it. I just keep thinking wouldn't they want little boys?

I've always got a little bit of a nun-fetish, despite the ridiculousness of that. I like that you're linking it back to a certain period in the church's history, although I might have gone for the pornocracy of Pope Sergius III. Mostly because I like the word 'pornocracy'.

I'm not sure the recruiting idea works in general, since men of weak moral fibre would not be seen as ideal clergy recruits. Perhaps it is used to opposite effect: nuns weeding out students who are easily tempted.

Let's say, the church is rocked by a sex scandal in which a high-ranking individual is seduced and influenced by a woman with mob connections. The pope decides he's not going to let himself be surrounded by men who can so easily be tempted, so he goes to this long dormant secret sect of nuns and tells them that they are to use every skill they have to attempt to seduce these each bishop candidate. The priests will not know that they are being tested. Only men who survive these tests are appointed to bishop positions. Of course, the nuns are very good at their work, and not only do they eliminate pretty-much every bishop candidate, but the pope soon finds that even he is not impervious to such temptations.

Expand the paradigm. There's the usual secret order of Vatican nuns; and a secret order of Balinese female Hindu nuns; and a secret order of Thai femboy Buddhist nuns. They compete. Hilarity ensues.

Sounds interesting.

The main character could be a young woman, who's deeply religious.

She becomes a nun after a personal tragedy happens in her life. Because of her beauty, she is recruited to the Society. She is shocked by what she is told, but the history is explained to her, and that it's for the greater good.

She reluctantly accepts, even though she thinks it's immoral. The story should be about her hesitation and eventual transformation as a new member of the Society.

Damn you!!

I like this idea. Like the "secret society" skulduggery aspect of it, and of course the taboo that is built in. Could make a great story.

Of course it requires a lot of background to explain the situation. That could make for a boring beginning, unless you start with a little teaser before the exposition. "Father Flanagan tossed aside his collar and dropped his trousers as Sister Mary Fellatio slowly dropped to her knees in front of him...."

By the way, do you know what kind of meat a priest eats during Lent? Nun......
