My dog's name was Autumn at the shelter where we rescued her from. Now she's Gigi because she's a Good Girl.

How does that work? The switching up names from what they're keyed to from jump? I never could understand the re-training part.

I was just over at the Playground seeing as Laurel is going to make me a Mod there and stuff.

What do I see? An open thread with 10k posts!

What the hell?

In our case I don't think she ever had a name, she was seized when the police broke up a dog fighting ring. Her face was was torn up and I was sure she would be scarred for life but when the rescue called me to take a look at her all she did was wag her tail and crawl into my lap and I knew she was ours.

In other cases it's not so much the name as the inflection you use when calling them. Dogs figure out that you're calling them and the sound of it is what they respond to.

The cat's name was Nero but we are a pretty Christian household and there was no way I was going to call him Nero.

So now he's Bob, that name offends everyone.

My dog is the best person I know.

I bought Dr Marten wellies today. Zum I'm going to send a picture.

I was accused of going out in next to nothing.

Which is incorrect, I'm going out in as little as possible without worrying about getting arrested.

I understand being cautious. That is good. Me? I take them in and toss them to the pack. Hissing and snotty looks fade away. Soon they are sharing the sun for afternoon naps.

Keep us posted!

the first dog I liked failed the cat test, and i'm not willing to risk suzycat's life. there are thousands of dogs in need of a home, so I see no point in getting one that won't suit. suzycat is an old lady and deserves a bit of consideration.
