Nobody can refute a word this woman says. Her arguments are perfection in action.

You silly crybaby losers.

http://thoughtcatalog.com/chelsea-f...ivilege-and-the-problem-with-blaming-all-men/

Take, for example, the prominent feminist circles you’ll find on various social media. Everywhere from Tumblr to Twitter to Facebook groups, there are women getting together and talking about what it means to be both a woman and a feminist. And in many of these circles, there is a heavy focus on “male privilege,” and what that means in an operational sense. There are near-endless blogs dedicated to pointing out everything from the microaggressions to the sweeping legislation which subjugate women. And as the (righteous) anger against some of the institutional disadvantages women face brews, it manifests in a number of ways. “Misandry” has become a cute term to express one’s disgust for the patriarchy. “Kill all men” is another. They are small slogans and concepts which aim to take back a sense of control, of autonomy. The expression of hatred towards men — one regarded as benign because of the lack of societal power behind it — has become a kind of social currency in many more radical feminist circles. It wouldn’t be shocking to see a 16-year-old white girl’s Tumblr with a picture of her holding a heart-shaped card emblazoned with “I Love Misandry” and surrounded by sparkles. It’s cute, and it’s harmless.

But the idea of leveraging a universal hatred against men, or allowing ourselves to feel as though there is a clear divide in terms of gendered power, and that it falls distinctly on the men vs. women line, fuels a slippery slope of profound privilege denying. Because to pretend as though the 22-year-old white female blogger talking about her hatred of men from the comfort of her prepaid dorm at an Ivy League school does not hold many tangible privileges over, say, the undocumented male worker who is cleaning the bathroom stalls of her building at night, is ludicrous. There are countless privileges she has over him, and countless points of access she has in our society that he will never see.

As young, white, middle-class women, we move through society with a certain amount of implicit trust. We’ll laugh when we see Lindsay Fünke on Arrested Development comment on her ability to shoplift with impunity because, hey, she’s a white woman — but the truth that underscores that joke is very, very real. Figures of authority in our society will give us more of a benefit of a doubt than they would a young black man, for example. They assume the best of us. And yes, there will always be exceptions to this. And yes, it can be infantilizing. But when it comes to standing before a judge, or a bigoted police officer, my guess is that most people would rather be condescended to and allowed to go home, than treated like a “man” and be beaten or thrown into jail. Just this last week, Forest Whitaker was frisked by a store employee because who accused him of stealing, while more than one young white starlet has been openly caught stealing pricey items and met with a slap on the wrist.

Even rape culture, one of feminism’s most important crusades, is often blind to its own inability to consider other axes of privilege. The rape culture that exists within our prison system — thousands of young (mostly poor, mostly PoC) men and women being raped and sexually assaulted on a daily basis with little to no recourse — is often met with a cultural response of “If they didn’t want to get raped, they shouldn’t have gone to jail.” The victimless, drug-related crimes which turn into extensive sentences and felony records which prevent future employment are regularly the start of a lifetime of sexual assault, and yet we so often see rape framed in feminist spaces within an extremely narrow context. These are people who are victimized largely because of their limited access to resources or escape and their marginalized position in society — who fit every criteria of being within a “culture” of sexual assault — and yet their stories often go untold in the discourse.

Dude, this "privilege" buzzword is stupid.

In the first place there wouldn't be anything wrong with "privilege" if someone actually had it, but nobody does so its a moot point.

And the "undocumented worker" shouldn't be in the country in the first place. I bet he/she feels "privileged" to be here though, making at least 10X the wages in they would make in their own country.

funny.. all you have to do is reverse the genders in the above speech.. and it's just as equally valid

funny that

I don't read GB C&P articles used by lazy ass posters.

But I scanned this one and there is truth to there being a gender caste system in North America.

Not as pronounced as elsewhere maybe, but it's still a Man's World... so there is a concrete rationale for female angst in the career world.

The OP keeps posting crap because he is hoping that someday by some weird twist of faith the world, or ever a few more posters on lit will agree with him.
He just keeps doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting different results.

A little Brecht/Weill/Steeleye Span for you, OP:

Please tell me this is all just homework for some community college course.

No this isn't community college level work. It's much less than that. Even the students in an ENG101 at a community college would know better than to start a sentence with "but" or "because".

And that is why you keep failing in your fights with me - you completely misread me at every turn.

I don't care if you NEVER agree with me. It's not like you can come up with any counter arguments against what the woman in the OP said. None of you can. I already knew you were defeated before you even came in here.

I do this just to piss you feminists the fuck off.

Emphasis mine. Yet another feminist who gets it.

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/07/11/1108632/-Sexism-Misandry-and-Male-Bashing#

Misandry, hatred and disdain for men in general, is probably the most underused word in progressive political debate. Although a lifelong feminist, I have always loathed knee-jerk male-bashing and defended men against stereotyping. Wikipedia has a decent definition of sexism: "Sexism is commonly considered to be discrimination and/or hatred of people based on their sex rather than their individual merits." Both men and women can be sexists; both men and women can be the victim of sexism.

The glorification of the macho man is sexist. The idea that little boys can't cry or wear pink or play with dolls is sexist. The denial that fathers are just as loving, nurturing parents as women is sexist. Questioning the masculinity of a man who stays home and cares for his children is sexist. Expectations that daughters are better qualified to care for aging parents are sexist. .

Four days a week I helped take care of now 5-year-old grandson until he was 2. I recaptured many memories of my youngest brothers, 11 and 13 years younger, as little boys. I remember their tenderness, sensitivity, gentleness. Yet even when we were all keeping watch at my mother's deathbed at home for a week, only one of my brothers cried openly. His four brothers in another room assumed it was me.

Sexism underpins our whole glorification of war and violence. It cannot possibly be defeated in one generation. All of human history is not changed quite so quickly. Hanging out with Michael in NYC playgrounds and streets, I am conscious that preschool boys possibly suffer more from sexism than little girls. When a girl shows interest in traditionally masculine activities, it is often seen as upward mobility. When a boy shows interest in girlie things, people start wondering if he is gay. Older men in the elevator started fretting over Michael's curls when he was 15 months old.

All of us are crippled by such sexist attitudes. Preschools and elementary schools are a better match for most girls. Boys too often wind up on medication so they can conform to classroom rules and expectations. The idea that boys can't be babysitters or men can't be daycare, kindergarten, and grade school teachers is disgustingly sexist. Home health agencies seem to find it unimaginable that a client might want a guy to care for their aging mother. The idea that every man is a potential rapist or sexual predator is hideously sexist.

Women cannot have it both ways.If they want fathers to share equally in parenting, they have to let fathers find their own way to parent. I observed a group of stay-at-home fathers with their toddlers at the Children's Library at 42nd street. They were fantastic with their all-over-the-place toddlers, showing great humor, love, and appreciation and a total absence of up-tightness..

Everything she said was flawlessly correct.

You don't even have a chance of actually refuting her points. All you guys can do is hurl a bunch of baseless crybaby attacks at the messenger.

That's why I'll keep posting this - because you know the MESSAGE she's delivering, destroys your credibility.

There's nothing wrong with starting a sentence with "because." "Because it was raining, I took an umbrella." "Because you are stupid, you say stupid things."

Those are complex sentences and, to make your writing less dull, you should use them sometimes.

Thanks! I passed 6th grade English too! Of course I went onto 7th were they taught me how to make an argument. Because you're a piece of shit, you should try it sometime!

He's being petty. That's all he's got. He's too scared to attack the actual arguments that the article made, and there were several coherent and very on-target arguments that she made.

Your problem is you're trying to use her words to say "don't blame men!" Of course, the problem is men are to blame.

A woman didn't bring the Hobby Lobby case to the Supreme Court, a man did.

A woman didn't decided to restrict the availability of abortions in Texas, men did.

There's the a whole host of other things that author leaves out: men discriminate against women in the workplace, women are more likely to suffer violence at the hands of their partner, and -funny enough- the white author seems to forget other things as well.

Anyway, her argument isn't so much as bad as nonexistent. She talks about misandry but provides no actual examples of it. She also talks about class but truly doesn't understand what it means. She also doesn't include any specifics about anything other than "people get raped in prison".

So again this is not community college level work (just like most of your posts or shit you link to) it's 7th grade English, at best.

You can start a sentence with "because," but only if it's a clause. Example

Because LJ was turned down on so many dates in high school, he's turned into a member of the "He Man Woman Hater's Club."

See what I did there.

Chelsea nailed feminism to the wall and you're too scared of addressing her arguments to even attack that.

You're such a hilarious chickenshit.

You're head is so far up your ass, you're tasting your great-grandfather's shit!

You see feminism EVERYWHERE, in EVERYTHING. You have no original idea when it comes to it, as well. You believe every woman in power is a feminist.

It's time for you to jump off this conspiracy and join the rest of the world!

The OP keeps posting crap like this because it is the only way he can vent his hostility toward his ex-wife.

It's not just her, but the women he expected to welcome him when he reentered the dating world.

In his demented mind, women are intrinsically evil, which is why they torment him.

And with that, I am unsubscribing. I can't say another word, write another sentence, that best describes OP.

Lt has been on Lit everyday for probably the past 10 years. He has always posted about his daily and he still does.

The problem now is, his life has gone totally south, and this is what it looks like.

You need to scoop out the shit that has filled your skull, wash out that bucket, and replace it with a real brain.

You cannot even refute ONE POINT that woman made. All you can do is attack me. Because you are nothing but a pathetic chickenshit.

So see ya, and don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya.

Chickenshit.
