In a football match (soccer), between Villa Real and Barcelona, Dani Alves went to take a corner kick and was subjected to crowds of home fans making monkey noises. One threw a banana at Alves.

Alves put the ball down, picked up the banana, peeled it and ate it. He wasn't even booked for time wasting. The man's got class.

He does as do some others in football. Son and I were talking about this yesterday

I wish I remembered more of the details but there was a match where this type of stuff was happening. The player got so mad that he walked off the field and went to the locker room, he was done. The whole team followed him and ended the game.

Thats the one I was thinking of. Prince is great and love that the team supported him. It is starting to happen more but for the longest time, the team would just play on if someone left.

This made me laugh and his reaction was perfect: don't acknowledge the insult, don't give them the pleasure.

I think that the whole team walking off is a tad unfair to the majority of the supporters, but if it helps create a feeling of animosity towards the racists I guess it's not all bad.

I thought this thread was about the asshole that owns the Clippers telling his girl he didn't think she should be seen with blacks or minorities. Good for the guy who ate the banana. Let them know he doesn't give a shit what they think of him.
