A Poet Walks Into a Bar . . .

not seen those two but just read the blurb on something about mary - sounds convoluted :D

is it something i can find on youtube? i'm so lazy
the scenes of the film, where the tornado is impending then arrives, really made a big impression on me (and most children, i imagine!) - i saw it on tv in black and white. the colour version i didn't see till much later and it seemed almost garish at first. i kinda like black and white. the nuances of shading....

It seems to be synched ok. If I remember correctly, the movie runs much longer than the album. I think it only really matches on the first run (until the album ends the first time), but most edits run the album again until the end of the movie.

edit: Well, I also started listening to Pink Floyd when I was around 16. :) Before that it was Queen, Beatles and a lot of grunge, for all that teenage angst.

Oh, and it's well synched. I've been watching it and the song transitions and lyrics all match (in certain points) what is being seen. Pay attention to song transitions, and lyrics like "all you touch and all you see", or "and balanced on the biggest wave, you race toward and early grave"

edit 2: be on the lookout for the transition to "Money", too... though that one is pretty hard to miss. Oh, and pay attention to "black... and blue... and who knows which is which, and who is who? Up... and down..." :)

Son-free time? It's not that kind of movie. :D

In any case, if he doesn't like Pink Floyd edited over Wizard of Oz, it's a good time to start converting him.

I believe she was suggesting a distraction free moment when she could best enjoy it

ah, it's more about me wanting to watch it uninterrupted and totally immersed in the moment . no2 wouldn't be interested. no3, possibly. he can watch it after :D

Quite possibly, yes...

I was just joking with the "conversion" thing. I was reminded of how my cousin and I decided to force his younger brother into liking rock 'n roll (he was deviating into abysmally bad music territory). So we started presenting stuff. Led, Queen, Black Sabbath, and so on. Mission accomplished. :)

yeah, lotsa times I watched that one sound track was great one part it sounded like rust hinges L Emmet Kelly was brilliant

I could only remember the Mickey Mouse song at the end... :) But yeah, just checked the soundtrack on iTunes. Paint it Black, Wooly Bully, Hello Vietnam...

Emmet Kelly? Did you mean R. Lee Ermey? Or perhaps 'tis a play with the names...? :D

Ho, Harry. Are you watching Game of Thrones, or reading (or both)? Daario Naharis' scene in this last episode was awesome. Still giving Bronn the "honorless dog" award, though. Gotta love the sellswords.

I only get to watch when hbo has free weekends. I'm caught up through the first episode of the new year. reading, it's a book?
