What category for a story?

So I am finishing a 3 part story that I really like. I think it belongs in Erotic Couplings but not sure. It involves: very mild but definite d/s. And very descriptive Daddy/daughter role play. There is a theme of a woman bothered by incest fantasies but no actual incest described. Hmmm. Just wondered what you thought. Also do authors pick the category? Thanks! Now back to your regular programming.

You can pick your category, but the site owner may override it if she fees it belongs somewhere else.

I'm thinking that with a combination of d/s and heavy daddy/daughter play(but not incest) fetish may be the right pick. Daddy/daughter role play can still squick people a little bit in most categories, but it would work in fetish.

D/S is obviously BDSM< but the d/d trumps that. I would go with fetish if it were my piece.

With daddy/daughter roleplaying, it will automatically go to incest, and both daddy and daughter will have to be at lease 18--and the role they are playing will have to be at least 18.

Be real. If you play the daddy/daughter sex relationship, you yourself are invoking the incest category.

a role play will get killed in incest.

Besides the daddy fetish extends past incest, its not much different than the school girl or any other sexual role playing.

There's an entire group of women who are into this called "Littles" and their idea of a daddy isn't their daddy, but a daddy figure.

They talk about the daddy game all over fetish and the bdsm boards. Its not just incest.

But I'm sure "littles" haven't made their way into Websters yet so I would not expect you to know this.

I'd say Fetish. It would get ignored in Incest at best, and more than likely be panned for being role-play.

The addition of D/s further edges it that way.

Depending upon the title and description line, it's entirely possible to pull in the Incest readers who aren't bothered by non blood-related incest fantasy. At the same time, a title and description that will draw in those readers will warn away the Fetish readers who might be squicked by it, so it's a win-win proposition if you can do that.

Because there's only one person approving stories, and she speed-reads by necessity, I would suggest taking advantage of the "Notes" section of the submission form to point out that there is no actual incest in the story, so it doesn't get changed to the Incest category by mistake.

two for fetish then.

Good point on the tag line. I would use daddy play or role play in it so t does not get put in incest where it will take some heat.

Sean renaud recently placed a story where an older and younger woman pretended to be mother/daughter and had a threesome with a guy who believed that they were mom/daughter.

he put it in group and it didn't do badly.

It doesn't matter if role playing would get killed in incest. If the roles being played are incest, my bet is that's where Laurel would put it. Category assignments are ultimately made by Laurel, incest is a trump category, and nobody is fooling anybody with role playing incest--the arousal target is for those interested in incest.

Who would you be fooling by saying in the notes section that "There's no actual incest"? It's all fiction. If the role playing is incest, incest is the category card you are playing. Don't be cute about your intent and your targeted audience.

Lol thanks for the ideas I am glad I asked! Fetish sounds appropriate but then again the ending is all about giving up "daddy" and relinquishing the fantasy! In other words giving up a fetish. I knew this would be problematic!

It's a trump, but hardly an absolute one. Ebon Genesis went into Sci-Fi&Fantasy without a problem, even without using the notes section. It could hardly have been missed, because I called out the incest in the Author's Notes right at the beginning of the story. It's far from the only actual incest story outside the category, let alone role-play.

A search for "Daddy" confined to the Fetish category turns up 420 hits, and most of them on the first page contain it in the title and/or specify Dad/Daughter role play in the description. Several are from 2012 and 2013, so it's not something that only happened in the past, either.

You're not targeting the Incest readership here with this theme, because they don't like it. That's made abundantly clear in the comments on stories there, where even cousin and aunt/nephew stories are considered to be "diluted" by many of the readers.
