Guys, after several years of faithful service my wife's rabbit style vibrator gave up the ghost. To say she enjoyed this thing would be an understatement. I'm in search of a replacement vibrator of the rabbit style (simultaneous vaginal penetration and clitoris stimulation). Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on how you see things) there is a dizzying array of choices.....this my question: what are your favorite rabbit style vibrator? Why is it your favorite? Your thoughts are greatly appreciated!

This is a very difficult question to answer, because women like vibrators for very different reasons. I can give you a few suggestions on *how* to choose, but ultimately it is your wife who needs to make that choice.

You will always be able to find vibes cheaper online, that is a no brainer.

BUT, before you do, your best bet is to go shopping at an adult store and get a 'feel' for the vibe yourself. Do your research, pick them up, turn them on, see how they work, how they sound, how they feel. Figure out the one you want, then go online to find it cheaply.

When you're in store, a few words of advice. Turn the clit tickler on and hold it against the inside of your elbow (or your wife's elbow). The skin there is much more sensitive and more closely resembles the sensation she will feel at her clit, than feeling the buzz against such hardened skin as your hands/fingers.

When you turn the shaft on, wrap your fingers around it and squeeze. A really good vibe will continue the pearls rotating. If some pressure causes the shaft/pearls to stop vibrating, then the clenching of vaginal muscles will do the same.

When you DO get your new vibe... and I cannot stress this strongly enough... USE CHEAP BATTERIES. The cheapest you can find. Good batteries have a higher pulse rate and will wear out the small motor in a vibrator much sooner than needed. Cheap batteries have less strength and will keep the motor running longer.

Hope this helps!!

Doh! Thank you for pointing that out. I wondered why we went through them but thought it was just use.

Well, there is that ;). But the life of a vibe can be extended with the use of the right batteries.

The joys and knowledge that come from working in a porn store for five years

How about some other types of toys other than the rabbit? A couple of years ago, after a bunch of cheap toys that lasted maybe a year, I got her a Hitachi Magic Wand. Powerful and built to last. The Hitachi plugs into the wall but there are some similar things that use batteries. I recently got her a We Vibe which we have yet to try because of some other issues in our life right now. I'm also thinking about a Stronc Ein.

One thing I've learned over the years is that most of the "Made in China" things that are out in sex toy shops and in catalogs doesn't last. So if you're going to buy that stuff, get it from the lowest price vendor you can.

Here is a Lelo smart wand, is reachable. i've linked to the smaller version, but u can find in there a bigger one. Anyway it has different design, unlike the Hitachi which is pretty much same old design for wands.

My Hitachi magic wand has generally been pretty well received. However it can't really be used for penetration (at least in most cases). I've heard good things about Lelo, but I've yet to add a Rabbit to my collection, so I'll watch this thread with interest and see what comes of it .

am I the only one who thought that batteries were categorized by voltage? What is a battery pulse rate and how do I learn what this rate is on any specific battery?

They don't really come labelled. You don't really need to scan the labels. Just buy cheap batteries. No-name, off label, penny pinching batteries that you would normally not even look at for your good tech items.

Generally, more expensive batteries are better quality and have more energy and are stronger, which is why some tech and high profile kids toys need super expensive batteries or they wear out quickly and it seems like you're changing them constantly.

So the general idea is for things with smaller, weaker motors, you should buy cheap batteries, because they emit a weaker energy.

My insulin pump, for instance, while an expensive and important machine, runs much better on really cheap no-name batteries, because it has such a small motor. More expensive batteries tend to send it a little haywire. It took me a few tries to really understand this, but... I got it in the end.

Vibrators are similar. They are small items with small motors and expensive batteries emit too strong energy that wears them out too quickly.

Really? I would have thought the cheapo batteries would burn out so quickly, you'd be lucky to get one orgasm in.

I would be probably looking at ways to jerry rig that thing with a car battery if I could. :D

Mind you, this coming from the person who really can't come from having just a vibe on her clit. Not from lack of trying, either. Maybe I need to try one of these rotating pearly-rabbitty ones.

Oh you really should try the rotating pearly-rabbit ones ;) Just remember some of them sound like a weedeater! lol. Now if they just had a 'whisper' mode...

Awesome. No clandestine masturbation then? No one's going to believe I'm killing dandelions in my bedroom if it sounds like a weedwhacker. That was always a concern surrounding ever trying a Hitachi magic wand...I heard they were rather noisy beasts. If I am going to have any noisy beasts in my bedroom, I'd prefer it to have a Y chromosome as opposed to AC plug.

I remember posting a while back about a "clit sucker" that was an attachment that you put on your vacuum cleaner. I remember thinking, "Yeah, everyone knows how much I hate to vacuum, so no one is buying the need for the Hoover to be running for, oh, an hour at a time."

Last spring, I was invited to a sex toy party, and they sold one of those rotating pearl ones that also lit up with multi coloured LED lights. Perhaps I should have gone out on a limb and made the purchase? If I'd not had an orgasm from it, it could have been hung from the ceiling and I would have had a disco light.
