Australian Accent Fetish?

Strangely enough, when I was in the States I had a number of women approach me and start chatting and acting as if I was the most interesting bloke in the world. Certainly not something I was used to, and I eventually figured out it was because of my Australian accent. I even had one or two ask me to add them to Skype so that we could...flirt at a later date.

Is it just me or is this a little unusual? Surely an accent can't be that alluring? I mean, I am not hideous, but I also not the sort of guy who is beating women off with a stick when I go out over here.

I think being attracted to someone because of their accent is fairly common. I have my GPS set to the Aussie male just because I think the accent is hot. I even named him Jack. All my girlfriends love listening to him talk to me.

Good point about the GPS! I'm American, and I have my GPS set to British Female. I think I'm falling in love with her.

I can totally see women swooning over an Australian accented dude. I wouldn't call it a fetish, though. More like a bit of extra flavor.

I should add, we don't get a lot of Australian visitors where I live, but we get a decent trickle of Brits. Whenever I'm out at the bar, if there is a Limey in the house, all the other guys know they won't get the time of day out of the local chicks. They'll all be listening to the Brit and his sexy accent.

It's true. I think it might be quite common to have a "nationality" or "accent" fetish or preference.

I still remember a blonde Aussie lady I met in a pub in London. She was very attractive and fun. She was friendly and open and enjoyed a beer or two while I was there. Although I did not approach her, she has been in my "Fantasy file" ever since. I have given her a whole set of attributes. She is sexually aggressive and uninhibited. I have sort of imposed those attributes on most Aussie ladies.

I also dig the Scots accent.

I have to confess that I have a thing for women with Scottish or Irish accents. I have no idea why, since there were no such ladies around when I was growing up. But listening to Fiona Ritchie on public radio's Thistle and Shamrock is one of my secret vices.

You don't realize how incredibly sexy the Aussie accent is because where you live, everyone has one and there's nothing exotic about it. Travel a lot, talk to many women and enjoy!

That's an excellent point. It true when they say that familiarity breeds contempt, I guess!

Personally, I find what I consider foreign accents to be incredibly alluring and could listen to them all day. Sadly, I don't get the opportunity as much as I would like.
