An out of the ordinary request

From personal experience, I know there are some very knowledgeable writers on this forum about BDSM and gorean lifestyle and I was hoping I could get in touch with at least one of them to ask a few questions and perhaps get a little educated about the subjects.

I've been asked to write a short novel themed with gorean lifestyle with some very specific twists but I lack knowledge about the life style (even the more "basic" BDSM lifestyle) and every single piece of information I seem able to find on the web is either too "clinical" about the subject or too warped to manage to actually give any reliable information.

I'm aware that this is not the proper place to put this kind of request - as there is a specific forum for BDSM and another for story discussion - but I've tried my luck there and to no success. Hopefully, this will change.

Gorean's are mostly M/s, with a total power exchange, based on a series of shitty books. Think the scientologists of Bdsm. They are also crazy as fuck.

That pretty much covers it!

They also take themselves VERY seriously.
And are always
"I AM A TWUE GOREAN!"
"NO, I AM A TWUE GOREAN!"
"NO! I AM!"
But, of course, none of this helps your actual issue. There's wiki entries on it, I'm sure, that describe everything, and then others that say "no, its this way" and others that say "no, you are all wrong, its totes this way"

No! I'm a twue... Fuck I can't even joke about being Gorean. It makes me ill. In my five or so years in the community I've come across some goreans, all of them slightly insane, one lady threatened me with a knife, that she had left at home.

Ouch... Starting to feel I've bitten more than I can chew. Although I have a really big set of jaws...

I've been on wikipedia: either too clinical or too... whatever. And I don't have easy access to the series books in my country. Never translated; import material only at very high prices (30$US and up, minimum) and I'm not in the mood of burying my cash just because.

Again... ouch. I'm really starting to get worried.

What is your co-writer looking to have written? I see that in your SRP Profile, you've set hardcore BDSM as a hard line, Gor is pretty hardcore. The premise is that the male is supreme and master over the female, who is the kajira or slave.

If your co-writer is looking for a TPE (Total Power Exchange) you could skip the Gor and write something along the lines of Master/Slave, which would still give that power exchange without the unnecessary ick.

No co-writer; I had a request for writing a (most probably) story.

I was given an overview of the ideas the person has for the story: characters, main genres and a general setting for the story. But besides that, I was left out for the wolves.

That's rough, especially if they are asking you to write following Gorean ideals. There are some very strange protocols and things. If you are going to take this on it is going to take a lot of research in order for it to be true to Gorean style.

Added to the fact I lack absolutely all knowledge about gorean lifestyle and BDSM practices, the guiding line for the story is that the main character inherits, unknowing, an harem and it is expect to tend for it without any previous experience and the girls must make the new master understand and perform as it is expected from him, I'm pretty much "effed".

Sounds to me like you will have the perfect perspective for doing this once you do the research. Seeing as this is completely foreign to you now, you will be able to relate to your character. However I. Think the idea that a woman in a gorean practice would teach the man who is supposed to be in charge of her anything to be a bit flawed. Then again I have never really liked the gorean ideal system. All just seems a bit bat shit crazy. I wish you luck though.
