Arthritis has set in so it's always be with me now. It's just managing it. It's just injections....then a needle is connected to a computer and they heat it up. Takes about an hour. Didn't work last time though![]()

It will always be with you. I suffer from osteoarthritis, having had several sports related injuries. I am in the early stages of developing rheumatoid, damn Polish great-grandmother had it in her wrists and hips. Mine, just some tightness in two fingers on the left hand.

My mother has arthritis and spine disease and osteoporosis.![]()

I'm lucky. All those on the Polish side that developed rheumatoid did so either before 40 or before 45. Right now, hydrotherapy works wonder: long baths and swimming.

My mother is going to be seventy this summer.
I should recommend those things to her.
She is on so many medications it is not funny. Especially since the massive heart attack.
I think she take 22 medications.
She sleeps a lot because of the painkillers.
Tomorrow she is going in for a procedure to see if there is damage to the left side of her heart. We do know she has two blocked arteries.
I take vitamin d and calcium citrate and do weight bearing exercise. Hoping to stave off those issues.
Bless your heart I am sorry you have to go through all that.![]()

My therapy was suggested by my primary care physician: One of the ways to keep osteoarthritis at by is to be active. I have it in my right foot and ankle, as well as my left knee, making it painful for me to run. I can walk between 30 and 45 minutes with little or no pain, but swimming at the Y once a week for 45 does wonders
I have an old fashioned, porcelain over cast iron, claw-footed bath tub. Of course I'm going to use that.![]()

Oooh I love those kind of tubs.
I am active, so I have that going for me and I have my D levels in the normal range.
Hers just has her take piles of medications however my mother is a consummate narcissist and no one suffers like her and she of course can't exercise because she is too delicate of a flower. However my father can wait on her hand and foot with his bum leg.
I am glad you are being proactive about your conditions. I admire that about you.
Walking is some of the best exercise there is.
Tuesday night into Wednesday we have a big snow storm coming, possibility of 6 - 12 inches of snow. I'll be out there shoveling, not before loading up on 3 Advils and 2 aspirins. Loosens up the affected joints and allows me to be out there longer than 20 minutes.

You are a real trooper, RJ!![]()
I've been shoveling since I was 8, 41 years of it. Why allow some pain to stop me now?

That is a winning attitude.
You have so many challenges but you don't complain.
You just do what you do.
I admire you.![]()

You welcome.
I am sure several of us do.

Serene - you are so right. No one can be up 100% of the time and we all have challenges and difficulties.
The family here - in this and some other threads - is so supportive. It is nice.
Once upon a time I frequented this thread a whole lot.
That just sounds....ouch!! Have you done accupuncture? Another person from the thread did it for his shoulder and it helped. His pain was acute. If I had a magic wand....
Don't damn the Baboushka (sp). I'm glad you get some relief from hydro. Get those shovels ready. Ick, more snow.
I'll be sending lots of hugs to you tomorrow. I hope things go smoothly for your mom. That is a lot of stuff going on.
I'm hearing a song...... "we are family...." LOL Hi Swag!
Hi Pervy Sage! How are you doing? It's been a long time. Welcome back!
Thanks. I'm just looking in though.
Looking in or dipping your foot back in?
Noooo. Lol. There's no market for my service these days. So, looking it is.
LOL, well it is good to see you. And who knows, maybe there is a market? Keep smiling!
