Why wouldn't it? Mexico is a republic; and our republican form of government has survived previous waves of immigration from absolute monarchies, Western and non-Western. What did the Chinese immigrants know of democracy? Nothing at all, but it didn't matter; they never formed a threat to it.

I think if we're going to import people and talk about an expanded marketplace and economic prosperity in the future, we ought to be importing people who are educated and technologically literate and not likely to become wards of the state or become cannon fodder for Democrats.

I can't help the fact that our civilization, Western Civilization, is largely European and therefore white. I understand the Democrat need for illiterate Mexican immigrants, but we need people sophisticated enough to not buy into the impending disaster we now know as today's Democrat politics. The polls show that a vast majority of those folks will fall for Democrat socialism and therefore become a future economic burden to the civil society. If we are to bring in large numbers of Mexicans, I say test their education, their ability to speak our language, and their understanding of our culture.
