50 years ago word was getting out that the Beatles were coming to the States for the first time for a concert tour (in early February 1964). I was sitting in a choral class when I first heard them mentioned (ever). I thought the girls who were sitting across the aisle, giggling excitedly, were talking about one of them having been given a VW.

Yes, someone skated to an orchestrational medley of their tunes at the recent U.S. Ice Skating nationals, and it reminded me how many good and enduring songs they had. I recognized every tune.
