(Running late due to extended phone time with the SO... Hurrying out to the Great Room to put on the coffee and tea. Thinking some of yesterday's leftovers might be useful in making breakfast burritos and huevos rancheros and getting the little souffle pots down for the huevos. Filling them with alternating layers of bacon or ham and beans - topping off with a slice of cooked sausage and an egg. Sprinkling with cheese and setting them in the oven to bake. Slicing up some onions and peppers and sauteing them for use with the burritos. Setting out stacks of white flour, corn and whole grain burrito 'skins' in the steamer trays along with the last of the meats and eggs from yesterday. Hot sauce, sour cream and grated cheese on the side along with salsa and pico for those who want it.)
 
Hope all the daddies are keeping their baby girls warm today. Its zero degrees out but its getting warmer, this morning it was -13.

Good morning, Daddies and Babygirls!

I hope all of you in the mid to east of the US are doing alright.

Here in CA, we're having mid-60s..which reminds me of my theory of why California is so heavily populated.

We could be having rain...fog...cold conditions...whatever, on up to December 31. Then, for some reason, New Years Day it's always sunny and warm, and people along the Rose Parade route are wearing shorts and others have pulled off their shirts.

Someone in the hinterlands has just waded through a couple feet of snow out to their car, scraped ice off the windshield, and driven through icy streets to the store to get supplies for a day of watching football: beer, chips..maybe some melty, cheesy, hot dog things that you pop in the oven. They go back out to their car, drive home, wade through to their door, go inside, and turn on the Rose Parade. They see people in shorts and remember what they just had to go through. It is then that they plot their escape... ;)

(Giggles) "It's a good theory Daddy Nigel - personally I prefer four seasons and have always LIKED winter...this, however, may be carrying things to extremes!":rolleyes:

Where I live (more in the middle of CA) we have four seasons, and it can get downright nipply in the winter...but we're not at a high enough elevation for snow. Don't get me wrong, I like snow...but it's so...cold. I can only take a half hour or so out in it before I make a beeline for a warm fire and some hot soup.... :)

Finally, I am able to get out of the house after work without fear of getting frostbite. Currently, it's 17, but with the sun out, it feels like 20 :cool:
