New member here though I've been visiting the pages for a fair while. Would anyone be able to tell me how to go about advertising for a female co-author on Lit?

I've looked around for a forum but there seems to be nothing specific to this kind of need.

I'm interested in erotic short stories with a BDSM twist.

Not sure if you could find an actual co-author, but what you may really enjoy is the sexual role play threads.

You can start a thread with a scenario and say "open to one woman" and you can go back and forth with it.

You'll get more bites with that than getting someone to actually co-author a complete story.

Yes, I've noticed those - and thanks - but I'd be really more interested in corresponding and writing with someone via private emailing, if possible.

Have you checked out the author forums? You might have better luck over there depending on your needs. Did you start here to find someone with BDSM knowledge or inclinations?

Best of luck to you. Welcome to Lit!

Thanks very much. I might try the author forums but I thought for the moment I'd stay close to 'BDSM' and see if anyone can help here.

I've already written many short stories but not before with this theme. Thought I might give it a try. Perhaps there's a lady here with some original ideas.

Stick around and keep your eyes open for someone with ideas that might be compatible with your goals. Quite a few folks who post regularly here also enjoy writing so it's not out of the question that you'll spot a potential writing partner here before long.

Good point. I'll do just that.

My aim is to establish an ongoing correspondence in which we can discuss all matters erotic, not just put up 'the next chapter' for debate.

The AH has people into BDSM there, too. This whole site is full of kinky people. You also might check out some stories in the BDSM category of the story section. Then, if you find one you like, send the writer a message. Most stories give the reader a chance to contact the author at the end of the story.

I'm sure any prospective co-author is going to want to read some of your work before they can decide if what you do stimulates their juices, so to speak. If you haven't already, you should post something you've written in the story section of Lit. You will also see how popular you become by doing that, too. That could help you sway an author's opinion, if they are on the fence about taking you up on your offer.

Hmm...

Sound advice in general but I have some issues with your highlighted suggestion as I tend to prefer to keep my stuff for my own, private enjoyment.

In the past I have found the actual process of co-writing to be more enjoyable than any thrill I may get from the finished article, you see.

Maybe I'm just weird but I seem to remember others saying this too!

It doesn't bother me that you don't agree with me. You have your preference and I have mine. We're all different. I do write stories from my experiences or at least scenarios that I'd enjoy. But, I also want the reader to enjoy what I write. I don't think I'd write anything, if others didn't like what I wrote.

It's a little different with music. I do write songs in the style that I personally like to listen to, but if others didn't like them, I'd still continue for my own enjoyment.

I don't think I could ever collaborate with someone else, at least with an erotic story. In music, I do sometimes collaborate with others, but my part is always prominent. That's just how some music is. So, my creative juices still get tweaked.

So, however your creative juices get tweaked, go for it.

For sure, everone's different. No offence was intended. I stand in awe of anyone who can do creative work in both words and music - clearly you must write a Broadway production!

For what it's worth, I also dabble in painting - but that combination seems a little harder to marry...

Maybe if you describe a specific idea or topic for a story you want to co-author, someone will bite.
