Morning Round-up:

I got up at 6 am. On a Saturday!

My cat lost a tooth overnight. I found it when my bare feets hit the floor (He's old and doesn't seem to mind that the tooth fell out (although he's not really interested in going outside this morning (he normally spends the day sitting on the porch and keeping an eye on things))).

There was a moment, when we were all singing carols around the table. It could have been saccharine, or forced- but instead there was joy just in being together. Joy in lifting our voices.

Tell me how you make your protein bars!

They are pretty good, but they need more tweaking to be higher in protein.

I tried to PM you the recipe, but got told I couldn't, so because I know everyone else cares...

Pumpkin Protein Bars

1/2 c Truvia (I used 6 packets of Stevia)
4 oz jar baby food applesauce (I used 1 container of Motts Healthy Harvest No Sugar Added Granny Smith Applesauce)
2 t ground cinnamon
1 1/2 t ground ginger
1/2 t ground clove
1 t baking powder
1 t baking soda
1/2 t salt (I didn't add)
2 t vanilla
4 large egg whites (I used 2 eggs)
1 can raw pure pumpkin
2 c soy flour (I used 1 c whole wheat and 1 c ancient grain flour)
2 scoops vanilla whey protein
1/2 c milk (I used unsweetened almond milk)
1/2 c chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 350.
Spray a 9x13 pan with non-stick spray.
Combine first 11 ingredients and mix well.
Add the last 4 ingredients and mix until incorporated.
Spread batter into pan and bake for 30 mins.
Cut into 24 squares when cool.

I baked these in muffin cups so I'd have equal amounts (I don't cut straight).
They aren't very protein heavy...the recipe (made with my substitutions) comes out to: 80 calories each, 4.5 g protein, 10 g carbs and 2.5 g fat.

Now that the Duck Dynasty is back, will these threads continue?

Either way is fine. I'm just stoked on all this excitement over First Amendment Rights. I look forward to seeing 5 long threads by the same fine First Amendment fans here in defense of the next celeb who gets fired/reprimanded for saying something anti-Christian, anti-GOP, etc. ;)

9/10 doctors recommend not holding your breath in that situation. :D

Buh buh but they love Free Speech now! We all have the Constitutional right to our own TV program where we can say anything we like! So surely they will all line up in solidarity behind the next gay black Hispanic reality TV star's right to say Happy Hanukkah on national television!

:D

I stole my little brothers' shorts. Yes, I stole them.

Ugliest fucking little blue shorts you've ever seen in your life.

I came home and tore my "brand name" number right off.

When I get boozed I like to put them on. No bullshit, I have them on now. Just putting them on makes me feel infinitely cooler.

Smiley likes to dress up. Or down in this case.

Dressing down and feeling fine. :D

I'm sure they will give Al Sharpton their full support and blessing.

A little bird told me Laurelle used to participate in the political treads.

I love seeing Laurelle participate in the political treads, just saying.

Like a boss.
