[Doctor Who] Goodbye, Matt Smith.

One the one hand, he's often brilliant.

On the other hand, dinosaurs in space.

What to do, what to do.

he's a good writer, but a shit showrunner. also, he just had the doctor save a race of madmen bent on wiping out the whole of existence and in doing so robbed the character of his tragedy. fucking cunt.

But know he knows where he's going!

Or something.

Wait, what? Save a race of madmen? But the Daleks fired on each other and all died.

the time lords were planning on destroying the universe. that is why the doctor killed them along with the daleks.

I much preferred David Tennant's Doctor.

Matt Smith trying to follow him was disappointing.. Perhaps if Matt Smith had been the Tenth Doctor and Tennant the Eleventh Smith wouldn't have had as high a standard to live up to.

Although I liked Eccleston as the Ninth Doctor, he wasn't around long enough for me to develop any sort of feeling toward him one way or the other.

I enjoy Tennant - it was good to see him again - but I always found him to be too much James Bond and too little "clever boy" for my taste.

Matt Smith will always be my Doctor.

on that we will always differ. matt to me is too cartoonish. also, i liked david's way of doing comedy better. he's not my favorite actor, but he was perfect for doctor who.

and, no, he was not my first doctor. that was matt smith. david only became my favorite when boredom and curiosity drove me to search out the stuff slightly before my time and i just loved it.

but to each his own and all that. matt is decent enough. i criticize, often aggressively, but i do not hate the fucker. i'm just disappointed in the overall quality of his run. it's the fanboy in me. it can't be helped.

Do they still have those tacky Dalek things peddling around screaming EXTERMINATE and isn't it a Brit kids' show?

I'm reminded that being in London at Christmas is never a good thing.

In the Doctor Who universe, in any event.

smith always seemed to me to be on a great adventure to find where tennant'd gone.

in their doctors time together, it seemed as if tennant was gracing smith with "equality"...

tennant owns the modern doctor... kind of... to me.

i'd pay good coin to watch john hurt's adventures
in theatres and shit...

yeah.
there's that...

but that dude was always looking for roger daltry.

who new?

nahhhhhh!

i can see it - the hair. ha!

ecclestone broke the mould and dragged who bang into the 21st century. tennant did a wonderful job, and the dr<->donna combination had many surprising moments that surpassed expectations by miles. matt did well, though i wasn't looking forward to his incarnation. it's always going to be hard for a new man to step into a timelord's tardis.
