I've only had a few encounters with public nudity... mostly around hot tubs. In the late seventies, I was living in western Maryland and a bunch of friends and I visited a nudist camp somewhere south of Pittsburgh (couldn't tell where, because I wasn't driving and the whole area was strange to me). The camp had just been set up in a wooded area, with an above-ground pool and a court for volleyball and badminton. I was too shy and self-conscious of some scars on my legs (from an auto accident) to really get into it, but the people were very pleasant. I wonder what became of that camp ... it it's still there. I've totally lost contact with the people I used to know who took me there. Does anybody here know?

A couple of years ago, I went to a folk festival in northern California, by a river where certain portions were reserved for nude swimming. I enjoyed that, too. And I've visited a couple of nude beaches with my former wife when I moved to California many years ago, but didn't make a habit of it.

I've had a lot of dreams where I am nude in public. I never feel embarrassment in those dreams, only resentment that I had to put clothes on. Because of those dreams and the fact that I usually go nude at home in the summer, I've often suspected that I was suited to a nudist lifestyle, but I've never sought out like-minded people. Maybe it's time. My present wife isn't into it at all, for psychological reasons that I totally understand but won't go into here.

And, yeah, I've written a series about sex at a nude beach called "A Very Private Beach." The less private part of that beach was based on such experiences I've had with public nudity, but the more private part of the beach was strictly a product of my imagination.

Newbie in Naturism

I am new to the forums and this caught my attention!

I grew up in, and still live, in a conservative reservation in northwest New Mexico, and have always loved being nude since I was in my teens. I was only a nudist when the opportunities arose growing up. I was a nudist when I was left home alone, while my parents went to Albuquerque to run errands and to shop. I immediately stripped when they left for the day, and when I felt adventurous I would ride my bike, or drive presently, to very rural property by a river and strip naked to hang out in the cool shades of the cottonwood groves. During my college years, and when I moved to Albuquerque, I always slept in the nude and spent my private time indoors as well.

I have made an effort to join the RoadRunner's Naturist Club in Albuquerque, New Mexico, but I always suffered from nerves or I was pressed for time. I have never been nude in a public setting but I do often wonder about it and fantasize about it as well!

I have been an active nudist, member of a club, but currently restricted to home nudity. My main motivation for becoming a nudist was voyeurism and exhibitionism. Healthy living was never a factor.

Mine is a nudist family... we are mostly nude at our home and only whn we are at a cpl of frnds place who live similar lives... just wear clothes whn we are expecting guests into the house... absolutely love this lifestyle.. a sense of freedom!!!

I have a ranch.... often go der remote location no one around for miles... love to do horseriding naked... also at the end of it ders a small lake... after a long ride we often do skinny dipping der put up a camp for a cpl of days... completely naked for all tht while... its so liberating!!!

Naked on the river.

One time I floated the Green River from: Green River, Utah to Dead Horse Point, by Moab. An easy three day trip in a canoe. It was August in the middle of the week and it was hot. I had to keep getting in the water to cool off so I just took off my cutoffs and went naked for over two days. Only once did I see other people. I would stand out in chest deep water and hold still and these little minnow's would come and nibble on my legs and dick. The water is so brown that I could never see what kind of minnow they were. I caught cat fish to eat. And a cast iron pot to deep fry fish and fries. You want to be real carful deep frying in the nude. lol

Extremely jealous!! Wish we didn't have to our horses in such a active barn/farm. Would love to ride out in pasture naked

I'm totally into it, i go to beaches near my home with friends.

i like it because of the sense of freedom.

My wife and I did this years ago with the coaxing of my very pretty, younger and divorced sister in law. I had a great time, but my wife did not, she was upset when she saw me looking constantly at her sister and getting an erection as I lay on the chair. Tough part was waiting for the erection to go down before I could get up; that was embarrassing. To my delight I did get a smile from my sister in law when she saw my erection. After that my wife would not let me go back, especially without her, HA! Other than getting an erection looking at my sister in law, I did enjoy the idea of nudity in public.
