 Hi Chargergirl and everyone :)

Hope you are all doing well. Sitting here on a very windy and cool afternoon, watching the leaves being blown off the trees.

:rose::cattail:

Hey Jane!:rose:

Good to see you! Hope all is well in your world. Things are fine here, no complaints.

Our views are very similar right about now! Rain, wind, and cold temps headed our way for the next week or so.

:cathappy::rose:

How bizarre - perhaps we are all within five square miles of each other!

Am looking forward to next week, when my son is off school (which means I get to sleep in a bit later since I don't have to get up early to take him to school), and of course, Thanksgiving. I'm making the yams and the pumpkin pie this year.

Winter has officially arrived here in Michigan. We got about a half an inch of snow overnight - just enough to make everything white. I'm so not ready for this! And as I type this, more is coming down.

Definitely looking forward to the Thanksgiving feast on Thursday. We'll be at my mom's for the day and I'll be bringing the desserts and a veggie dish, probably green beans and mushrooms. Jane, does your son get the whole week off? The girls have Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off.

Welcome to the thread, crazy! Pretty flowers. :):rose:

Hey pretty girl!!!!

We had a drop in temps, went from 74 on Thurs to 32 and rainy today! No snow but that's expected lol

What desserts are you making? I just watched a cooking show that did green beans, tomatoes, bacon, onion dish. Looked absolutely delish!!!

Hey MsT, Happy Saturday!:rose:

That's a big temp drop!

Probably the standard pumpkin pie and whipped cream. The real stuff, of course! I'm always torn between that and the pumpkin cake roll with the cream cheese frosting in the middle. Sooo good. Maybe I'll do that at Christmas.

How's that little granddaughter of yours? Doing well, I hope?

Happy Saturday to you too sweets!!

Well you know us Texans, go big or go home :D

I love love love pumpkin pie. Me and my little brother are the only ones in the family that like it ... we don't mind. ;)

Now that roll sounds simply delish!! If you do make it let me know how it comes out or you could just share the recipe, just sayin. :D

OMG, she is just the most precious thing I have ever held and loved. *besides my own kids of course* I can't get enough of her! I'm thankful it's not more than a 3hr drive. I wouldn't be able to handle that and I admire the ones that do.

I hope all is well in your world. Anything new?

Libby's Pumpkin roll. I think the recipe is also on the back of the can of pumpkin. It's really good; I've made it several times and everyone that has it, loves it.

Are you all getting together on Thursday? Baby's first Thanksgiving - how fun! Not that'll she'll know what's going on, but it'll be fun for everyone else! LOL

Our exciting evening consisted of popcorn, Ice Age, and Ice Age 2, The Meltdown movie marathon. :D

Lucky kid gets the entire week off. Of course, it's due to budget cuts, but being 15, he just knows he gets an entire week to sleep in late :)

Thanksgiving will be at my parents' this year, as it's hard for my dad to get out and about. I'm making pumpkin pies tonight (one for Thanksgiving, and one for us to have at home). I like to use a cream cheese/butter pie crust - yum! Also doing the yams. Plus, since my son doesn't like turkey, I'm making some baked chicken to bring along tomorrow too.

Frosty mornings here, but much warmer than where you are Cgirl! :)

Seth - what is Las Vegas like this time of year? Hope you have some time off too to enjoy the holiday.

Who is chargergirl?

I see the name often among threads but she's an enigma

Our kids get an entire week off for mid-winter break, which is in February. Usually it's only 3 days, but not this year. I know Michigan's had major cuts to education, thanks to Snyder.

To be honest, I'm not a huge fan of turkey either. I'm more about all the yummy things that go with it! lol Enjoy your holiday!:rose::kiss:

Well I guess I can add that to my list. It looks easy and delish!

Unfortunately, I have the flu. So that means no contact with the baby, I swear she's like crack. I can't get enough!! LOL

The three hour drive is my deterrent, if she lived across the street I might not be able to show such restraint. ;)

I adore the Ice Age movies ... sounds like a nice cozy evening.

Happy Thanksgiving roomies! Hope it's a great day for all! Start of a wonderful 4 day weekend with football, turkey, pies and lounging around here!

Aw, so sorry you're sick and can't be with her. :( I do hope you're feeling better soon!:rose: Did you watch the Cowboys/Raiders game?

Happy Thanksgiving, seth! We really enjoyed the Lions' win - first time in 9 years they've won on T-day!

Anyone go out for Black Friday shopping? Big HELL NO! here.

She is an enigma, wrapped in a puzzle, and coated in mystery :D

She is also a great lit fiction writer, awesome mod, excellent choice for a Thelma and Louise road trip (that ends happily of course!), and generally nice all around good person

Sounds terrific :) Enjoy your four days off.

Slept in til 9:00 this morning, then did a little pruning in the yard and just finished breakfast. Of course, the kid is still asleep! He can sleep all day long, and then moan about how tired he is.

Had a nice Thanksgiving with family - a ton of food! My brother seemed to last all afternoon fine (he's going through chemo for cancer), and my dad enjoyed all the activity in the house. Washed a mountain of dishes! Now I'm off to pay some bills and get a few groceries. Hope everyone had a good time yesterday

The older daughter is going through the same thing right now. She is tired All. The. Time. But, I remember being the same way so I don't say a whole lot. I would come home from school and sleep until dinner, do my homework, read or hang out with friends, and then sleep all night. If it was the weekend, i'd sleep 'til noon.

Glad you had a good day! I didn't know about your brother, how is he doing?

I put up some Christmassy things with the younger daughter and we made monkey bread. Love that stuff. I made some homemade pizza dough and that is rising in the over, so we'll have pizza for dinner tonight. Otherwise, not much else going on, just enjoying the long weekend.
