Its just me and the boss, so we're grilling steaks.

As soon as its light I'll go outside and pick fresh broccoli and salad stuff to go with it. The dogs get steak, too, tho its an inferior grade.

The boss made a pecan pie yesterday, so that's good.

The usual for the wife and most of our company.

But for myself and my younger daughter my wife is making a ham because both of us hate Turkey.

Also with the son in law coming over and my wife's godfather there will be a fair amount of Jack Daniels going into my coke today.

As far as I could see when I stopped at my mother's house yesterday, olives and pie. My daughter had lined up about 4 relish dishes on the counter. She had little notes in each section to remind her what goes in that section. If only her schoolwork was so organized.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Going to my Mom's.for lunch She still does the full Thanksgiving meal. I would and have fixed it here at the house but it just means a lot more driving for people already half full.

Or completely full.:D:D

Let see, the best thing on the menu is my Mom's chicken dressing. She lives 50 miles away and I would walk there to get some.

Then when we get done there we're going to my Mother in laws for dinner tonight.

I'm going to be so miserable by tonight but Happy at the same time. I get to see some of the family that i don't see often. Even some of the crazy ones. Although some of them could say that about me...

Have a good day even if you don't celebrate Thanksgiving

Turkey with a hybrid feast of accompaniments (classic American and Coastal Italian).

One year we made the fatal error of letting our oldest daughter select the entrée. WHAT FOOLS WE WERE! She picked clams on the half shell cuz she wanted the big shells afterwards.

Castanets??

My 5 y/o picked up a toy set of castanets yesterday and asked his sister if they were real clam shells.

Good dinner choice!

Remind me to share my Christmas pizza story. Greek pizza no less.

Did anybody see the pic going around on Facebook of the turkey roasted with lemon halves under its skin? Talk about nice turkey breasts. That might be on our menu for Easter. (We camp with friends.)

I did not see the picture, but that is similar to what I do, except I use apple slices, onions, spiced rum, butter, and apple cider. I tried it just for grins and giggles one year and now it is what everybody wants every year. If you're interested, PM or email me and I'll send you the recipe.

Happy Thanksgiving too, BTW!

This one isn't about the flavor. The turkey gets nipples this way. I'll try to find the pic later.

There will be just the four of us this year for Thanksgiving Day with a good possibility of a second dinner on Saturday. The menu will be the standard Thanksgiving Day fare. Turkey, mashed potatoes, parsnips, kale, corn, homemade dinner rolls, individual stuffing mounds so everyone gets the crispy edges, and pies, lots and lots of pies.

So far the count is five pies for four people. We each have our favorites and my son wanted to make a cheesecake, too. Plus cookies.

We're going to the mountaintop after all--power back on and snow melting.

Taking the pumpkin pie and Lindt chocolate reindeer. Have no idea what else will be served. Thanksgiving fare isn't my favorite.
