New Poll On Presidents: Reagan Ranked The Best And Obama The Worst

That would take all day and fill Laurens message board to capacity.

But surely you must feel the difference yourself. The policy of "protecting freedom by locking it down" (which is kinda like fucking for virginity) is pervasive in all areas of society.

In my opinion Obama's biggest sin is failing to fix what Bush destroyed. He is guilty of inactivity more than anything else...

Obama took a minor divide in America caused by the war (which his party voted for) and turned it into a great bleeding rent that may never be healed.

Now, if you are a Socialist, this is a great thing because it gives you internal enemies which must be fought and that keeps your party and ideology united in a way that no external enemy can (as you proved when you pulled the rug out from underneath Bush as soon as the election was over).

Laurel's Board.

Get it right if you want credibility over your Bush hate...

You're right. I confused her name with a "Lauren" I know. That's no insult though, cause she's hot... ;)

I don't hate Bush 4est. In fact, I'm not even sure how much influence he had on the policy of his own administration. He never came across as strong enough to be the guy in control. He didn't have the... well... presence of a leader of the free world. He was more like a guy you'd want to have a beer with.

So when I say "Bush" it's not meant as an ad hominem attack on the man. I'm referring to the machinery that ran the country with him as figure-head.

He did more than people realize. Sure - Gorby had the tough end of the stick, but Ronald Reagan did all the right things to facilitate the process, with just the right amount of pressure and baiting. With the wrong president we could have ended up with total anarchy in the USSR or WW3

Bill Clinton did two very stupid things while in office:

1. Cheated with a girl who was less attractive than his wife (you always trade up).

.

Make that three... he perjured himself when he lied about it.

in other words

YOU CANT

Describe this "machinery..."

I'm curious. What did Bush destroy?

He was put in charge of "Land of the free - home of the brave" and turned it into "Land of the controlled - home of the paranoid."

If I have to mention a few issues that he messed with (which can't be news to anybody)....

...your ability to exist without getting tracked on a constant basis, your ability to fly without risking getting a finger shoved up your ass, your right to refuse anybody access to your property without a search warrant, your right to demand full accountability from the government for anything they do to you and your right to have a phone conversation without anybody listening in. And that's just for starters.

And the reason all this irritates me is, that he allowed the friggin terrorists to win!

They achieved exactly what they set out to do - terrorizing the US. Bush was their biggest ally in whipping up the fear because a people in fear will gather around their leader. He exploited that.

cause 9/11 never happened

I am surprised considering how the academia trashes Reagan and refuses to give him credit for anything.

Of all my US history/economics class's I have never herd Reagan get trashed....now I know you think not giving him credit for EVERYTHING good that has happened int he last 30 years and blaming democrats for EVERYTHING bad is the same as trashing the guy but that's simply not reality.

Having Obama as the worst makes sense as he is,

How so? Do you have any quantifiable evidence saying the nation is worse off than when he took over in 2009, after GW crashed this bitch in 08 and started handing corporate welfare out like candy???

but Nixon was not a failure.

Everyone look at Watergate which was minor compared to IRS or Behngazi and not his accomplishments

Really?

And those accomplishments that make modern life as wonderful as it is are??

New Poll On Presidents: as great.

The survey looked at presidents since Theodore Roosevelt, the first of the 20th century.

Says a lot about the quality of the poll that they didn't know that William Mckinley was the first 20th century President - he did not die until September 1901.

Says a lot about the American politics experts in this thread that they didn't know either.:D

Dude, it's The Econmist...of course Obama was ranked in stinko land

if Adbusters made a similar poll, you'd probably find the opposite

and these are the same pollsters that predicted Kerry beating Bush.. with an error margin of 3 to 4.8%

remind me how that went

1. He had willing allies all across the political spectrum and from a nation shocked at how unprotected we were and how willing we were to connect the dots, a legacy of the Clinton Era and the thinking that went behind the criminal pursuit of radical Islamacists who were at war with us. It is the same mindset that the current President is returning to. He is quicker to brand and treat his fellow citizens as enemies than he is to even suggest that there are problems with real, external enemies.

2. Had had failed to do what he did, he would have been crucified and out of office after the first term. Unlike Obama and the Democrats with the ACA and that hideous mandate, he did not go against the will of the people, but instead acted out in a manner consistent with the will of the people at the time. It was under this administration that we see those powers turned internally and used to win, some might say, steal, an election.

The will of the people is not always right, but, in a two party system, must be respected or the people will turn the government over to the other party on a dime as they did in 2010 and may do again in 2014 as "The Bill" is slowly read to them by Sebellius and they find out what is in it...

The Fraud is the clear winner in the Worst President Sweepstakes. He's corrupt, incompetent, arrogant, and a pathological liar. Jimmy Carter isn't even a close second.
