Just noticed that my bookmaker has odds for the 2016 presidential election, and since politics seems to be a major concern for many in this forum I though I'd share them.

For those not familiar with gambling, the number signifies how many times you'll get your money back if the person you're betting on becomes the next president. So if you bet $10 on Hillary Clinton you'll get $30 if she wins - but if you bet the same amount on Clint Eastwood you'll end up with a $5010 payday if he wins.

It's interesting to notice that Sarah Palin gives better odds than Mitt Romney. Not good for the ego of the poor guy..

The real contenders for 2016 aren't on the list.

But what I expect is: A lame numnutz for the GOP, and a flaming homo for the Democrats. That will be Donny Osmond and Charlie Crist.

Ignoring future Presidents for the moment; what are the odds of the next President nominating the current President to the Supreme court as William Taft was.

The nomination hearings might be fun - and splenetic for some perhaps!

Democrats ignore this reality: Hillarious was defeated by an unknown Chicago Nigga in 2008. Her base is Old Maid assistant administrators, Old Maid adjunct perfessers, and Old Maid human resources vice presidents. That is, Old Maid wonks who live alone with their cats and collect United Way awards.

Your bookmaker doesn't seem to really know much about politics. Clint Eastwood has a way better chance of becoming president than Palin, Bachman, or Romney ever will after their last runs.

It's still way to early to start making reasonable predictions, but hey, gambling is FUN!
Myself, I never pick a horse until I've seen the rest of the field and know who is going to be on the course.
At any rate, if the '16 election is anywhere near as entertaining as the '12 election, we're all in for one hell of a show.
After all, we'll have both parties shredding their own candidates during the primaries.

Its too early, of course, but I find it interesting that bookmakers have Hillary Clinton as the front runner.

Since Nate Silver is on the list, I'll be curious to see what he has to say about this.

Hey the 2016 could be more entertaining than 2016. The Dems will have to play that year and Hillary and Obama were funnish to watch. I would pay to watch the mud match between Hillary and Elizabeth unless they decided they'd rather run a nice clean tea party or something.

And the Republicans might not just gather behind the great white whale of Chris Christie and if they don't do that woo boy could we have ourselves a bonafide slobber knocker!

America can not afford to have hillary

Then it's likely game over because she is by far the most likely president at this point.

The off year elections will definitely tell the tale of whether Christie is viable for the GOP. Ideologues will do their level best to purge the party of heresy (RINOs, moderates, pragmatics) even if it means losing seats in Congress. Or as Christie recently said, hard line conservatives seem more concerned about winning the argument than winning elections (but if you don't win elections, you can't govern).
It's possible that the off year elections might finally split the GOP into two separate parties. That could make the '16 elections very interesting indeed!

At this point, I'm more interested in the Democrats' possible candidates. Hillary is likely to make another run and VP Joe Biden will certainly try, which, given the man's ability to make crass comments at times, ought to make the primaries on that side pretty entertaining. And that's not counting whoever else may decide to throw his/her hat into the ring.

Biden seems to be such an after thought that it wouldn't completely surprise me if he just wanders off into the sunset afterwards. I know it's unlikely historically it just wouldn't shock me over much.

It's. Too. Soon. Let us please have no discussions of the 2016 presidential election until after the 2014 midterms, the results of which will shape the playing field.

For violators, the tar, feathers and rail are prepared.

you point that if you bet $10 on Hillary at 3 to 1 you would get back $30 is not completely correct. You would win $30 and also get the $10 you bet back as well for a total of $40 back.

Most likely the next president will be someone that isn't even on your list or at the least one of the really unknowns from down the list a ways. Hillary being the favorite is a total joke. She'll be 69 years old, an even more dried up old hag that made a total mess of getting Americans killed in Benghazi. Anyone that would let that happen and then lie about it should be totally disgraced and never ever come close to the oval office. Let her go back to trying to keep Bill out of interns panties. she can't even do that! LOL

however, hillary will continue down the path of socialism and welfare expansion. I'm not sure where America stands but thinking we've tipped to 50.1% being welfare consumers/union/government employees ....

Closer to 90% Jenni. You and yours are just noisy you don't actually represent people.
