Photo ID Required For Re-Opened WH Tours, Obama Still Opposes Showing One To Vote…

Via Red Alert:

America rejoiced when the White House announced it would re-open for tours after cuts to funding from sequestration. But in a blatant display of irony, visitors to President Barack Obama’s home must show a government-issued photo ID to enter, but not to vote.

Tours of the White House resumed after a seven month hiatus, with the first official tour given to tourists yesterday. But for visitors looking to head inside 1600 Pennsylvania Ave., they must show valid, government-issued photo ID.

“All guests 18 years of age or older will be required to present a valid, government-issued photo identification … . All foreign nationals must present their passport,” it states on the White House’s “Tours and Events” page.

This criteria is particularly ironic given the fact that the man living inside the White House adamantly opposes voters showing photo ID before heading the the polls.

Having to show ID to tour the WH, but not to vote.
It's a government building. Obama didn't make the rules.

Go and tell your congressperson that you think illegal aliens should have the right to tour the White House, if it twists your shorts so much.

The answer is - you should have to show ID to vote. The dickheads are correct. And they didn't have to be dickheads about it, but they are. And they didn't have to use it as a way to discourage people without rednecks and with melanin in their skin from participating in the electoral process, but they did. Because they are dickheads.

So the challenge is to get acceptable ID in everyone's hands, not to piss and moan about it. Just accept the challenge and beat them at their own game FFS. It is not that big of a challenge.

Voter suppression in recent elections has been aimed at conservative voters, particularly white ones. Black panthers at polling places ring any bells?

No, there were no black panthers ringing bells at any polling places. I'm sure that would have made news.

It's the staunch conservatives and the Libertarians who insist that they shouldn't have to get a photo ID to vote. Obama happens to agree with them.

I don't understand how do you vote without an ID?

We've had voter's ID for years. Earlier municipal workers as well as party workers would visit the homes of people whose name was on the electoral roll and hand them ID chits which they would need to produce as a means of identification at the time of the vote. But even with this method it was easy to cast votes on behalf of people who didn't show up on election day.

What? You think he wants that scum that can't afford an ID to hang out in his house? Hell no.
