Okay, it's been a while since I subbed here. Can someone refresh my memory on how to do italics and bold? It's not something I'm used to doing in my MS. So yeah, I didn't use it and I lost it, lol. ;)

<i>Hello</i>

Type that in your story and the word "Hello" will appear in Italics.

If you want it bold, just do the same thing, but with the letter 'b' instead of 'i'.

Thank you both. :)

I did sub with .doc in the past, but I thought I'd try pasting this time. I hear that tends to be faster.

Then again, the last time I posted here the wait time was three days, lol.

Nothing to add except a big wave to my old friend from her favorite "pizzaboy" ;)

Good to see you and hoping your question means you are whipping up some new stuff to read. :)

I've been told the same, but never tried submitting .doc files. Just pasted it, then you can immediately get a preview of what you're trying to submit as well.

For formatting, when writing I do both. I make my text italic/bold where I want it, and then add the html tags around it. So I can see what it's going to look like, and save Laurel a bit of work - when you send .doc it has to be added by hand, that takes time and risks errors.

I've also been told <blockquote> works for block indentation (useful to quote an e-mail or letter in your story). No idea what other html formatting is allowed in stories, would like to hear.

Literotica does not use bot programs to scan through stories, so regardless of how they are submitted, they are still individually viewed by one person. I know on the submissions page it says something about bot programs, but Laurel herself has said that the site does not use bot programs at all.

So with that in mind, I'm of the opinion that the format of a submission has relatively little bearing on the time it takes to approve it.

<u>underline</u> also works.

One thing that a .doc can seem to get you, that you can't get in html, is larger sized text. One of my .doc submissions had larger font headings, and the larger size stuck, but that was several years ago, so I'm not sure it's still true. Maybe somebody else can confirm or debunk.

<center> is the only other tag you can use that I'm aware of.

You can link to pages on Literotica ( stories, profiles, threads ) using the standard anchor tag, but those are the only links that are allowed. Anything else ( even completely fake urls ) will get your story rejected.

@Pizzaboi, it's been a while, sweetie. Good to hear from ya! Yeah, this is just something I threw up on my blog for Halloween. It's not something I'll send to one of my publishers.

And I do believe Laurel goes through all the stories. I know she went through mine when I posted here years ago because I didn't use the code for italic/bold then. I just left a message in the Notes Field. *Blush*

Asking Laurel to add those html tags manually will give her more work, and with the current queue at 9 days or so (according to other threads on these boards) she's obviously got enough to do.

Sure it won't get you ahead in the review queue, it just makes life for Laurel a little easier, and the overall review process a little faster.

I'd love to see an overview of allowed tags - never been able to find one - and then write a formatting how-to. If anyone has such a list I'd like to see it, otherwise I'll have to PM Laurel for it.

It will be cool to have you back! :rose:

I'll keep an eye out for new submissions.

Got it down to 7 days!

Woo hoo!

*cheers*

Besides, it's not really true. Stories in both this account name and an alt posted this morning--8 days both. (just sayin', not complainin')

You're a very talented writer, an intelligent and opinionated person, and all-around fascinating character.

You know what would be really fun? If, for 24 hours only, you posted nothing but stuff like, "That's great! Keep up the good work!" and "Wonderful story! Can't wait to read more!" and "I can't say I agree with that, but it's definitely an intriguing viewpoint! Thanks for that!"

Just for 24 hours. Then go back to posting as normal.

Come on. Do it.

IT WILL BLOW EVERYONE'S MINDS.

It would be nice if everyone could do that actually. ;)

Thanks for a great site. I appreciate everything that's here and enjoy it a lot. :rose:

I have only one question to ask though. Why are the values of the scoring so different? 1 bombs carry more weight than 5 does. To solve the 1 bomb fiascos, couldn't they be made less in weight, making them less offensive and prone to abusive attacks?

I think you are confusing me with another poster who attacks you incessantly and who has posted that when the delays get to nine days he's denying you his stories, Laurel.

I said I wasn't complaining. I haven't complained about how long it takes to post. I've posted information when users have asked about how long it is taking. My mainstream books don't publish for nine months, so posting times here are a piece of cake.

I'm not all that wild about your imperial attitude toward those providing you your product either, so I guess we're even on that.

I give a lot of support to the users here--much of it because the Web site isn't updated on the help it gives.

So I guess today isn't the day? :D

Oh yeah - when I said, "I've got the backlog down to 7 days, I mean that I'd gotten caught up to that point today. Which means I posted stories that were 8 days out today as well. :rose: Just to clarify!

Also, thank you for supporting the site. :rose:

It apparently certainly isn't the day you look for my supportive posts. I think I spend a fair amount of my posting time in "calm down, it isn't too bad" posts here.

Ah well, you tried. (a heart, kiss and rose were supposed to be here)

:caning: That's just I think you have been a good little girl. ;)

I got a message about too many pictures in my post. I think it's counting all the posts in the quote section too.
