Or is making fun of someones "gook" children, Indian heritage, or calling them a dirty jew acceptable as long as that person is on the other political spectrum?

"Jew" is a perfectly decent word when used to denote a person's faith, as would be Muslim, Baptist, Hindu, etc. "Gook" is a racial slur, usually applied to persons of East Asian descent. An Indian is a person from India, and it was long ago also misapplied to Native Americans. However, it's still not a racial slur. Addressing a Native American as "Chief" is no different than addressing a tall man as "Slim."

As a southern white middle class man, the last class of which it socially acceptable to display bigotry toward, if I got worried about other people's bigotry, I'd have no friends at all.

I know too many card carrying social progressives who wouldn't utter a racial slur if they woke up with Magic Johnson's cock in their mouth, but anti-racism is their sole redeeming feature.
