Sorry, all. A bit late on this one, but everyone was so busy with the Halloween Contest. But now it's time to turn your thoughts from spooky to sparkly! Time for the Winter Holidays contest. Find your new spin on Christmas, Santa, winter, the solstice, dreidels, fireplaces, and write them up! With a little sex! Or a lot, depending.

Winter Holidays
themes: winter holiday traditions (dreidels, gift giving, etc.), cold weather (snow), holiday mythology (Santa, elves), etc.
starts: November 10
closes: December 7
winners announced: December 14

It cannot possibly be time for that yet! I'm still wearing sandals!

I know what you mean. 84 degrees here today.

Don't know if I can handle FAWC and a Christmas story. The last one nearly burned me out. No writing for at LEAST 24 hours!

quite frankly this seems a bit early to get into another contest but what the heck...

just want to let all you holiday writers know that as in all themed contests a.i.r. will be awarding another MANU Award,. this one will be the twenty-second and the lucky winner will be joining this group of literotica superstars...

if you want to participate in the nomination or voting process all you have to do is be a member in good standing of a.i.r....

LITEROTICA’S LIFETIME ACHIEVMENT AWARD

The Board of Directors of the ASSOCIATION of INDEPENDENT READERS (A.I.R.) decided some time ago that it would be appropriate to honor one of the giants of LITEROTICA fiction at the end of each of the Special Themed A.I.R. Contests.

They decided to call this new prize, one they believe will soon become emblematic of erotic fiction excellence and the most respected author’s award in the genre, the MANU. This name of course honors the first PRINCE of erotic fiction, a man who’s become a giant in the field of erotic publishing.

I'm excited for this. I've got two stories:

I'm almost done with a Mother/Son story, which I think is pretty good.

A few weeks ago I finished a NonConsent story which features a young Princess who uses her body to survive the harsh winter.

Good luck to everyone.

Never pay any attention to what scouries says. Everything he says about a.i.r. and contests they supposedly sponsor is a lie. There is no such organization.

Well, 48 was the high temp, but I did wear sandals.

So this is probably going to be one of those annoying forum newb type posts, but I am searching on my pain in the ass phone (which, just as an aside, tried to correct newb to bewb and made me gigglesnort)...what was I talking about again?

Oh yeah, could someone please tell me how one would go about entering a story in the holiday contest and when the deadline is? Do you just have to post it sometime within the contest time-frame? Is there an official declaration place? An incantation to mutter? Burnt offerings?

I've been annoyingly writer-blocked for months and all the sudden the Christmas spirit struck (probably all the Halloween decorations that did it) and there's a story coming out. If I have a deadline I might actually be motivated to finish it, so...contest it is. I hope.

The Official Announcement will appear at the top of the Authors' Hangout and will say that you must put a specific Note in the Notes field of your submission. It will probably be "WINTER HOLIDAYS CONTEST 2013" but wait for the official notice.

The start is November 10. Your entry must be submitted between then and December 7 to be part of the contest.

You can submit a couple of days before November 10, as long as you have put the correct note in the Notes Field.

Hope to make it by the deadline. I have an idea but no time to write for the next few weeks. Too many competing responsibilities. Good luck everyone. It was encouraging to see such a full roster for Halloween after the low number of stories in the summer contests.

jeanne_d_artois has started writing a Christmas Laundry Tale.

Will it be eligible? The Laundry Tales are stand-alone episodes, not chapters. Each can be read on its own and in any order, but the premise is the same:

Martha the ghost tells a story of life at the Hall at different time periods and the listener becomes part of the story, experiencing it for herself.

If it stands alone as a story and you don't give it a chapter title, I don't see why it wouldn't qualify.

I have two started but I'm not sure if I'll have the time to finish either. Here's hoping...

I'm not sure why but for some reason, I plan on posting a dozen stories. I like the theme of the contest, I guess.

I've got ideas, but I had ideas for Halloween too. Those ended up as half a dozen partial manuscripts that will be migrating to my half-baked folder as soon as I think about it.

In another creative slump, so I'm not holding my breath until something hits first-draft status.

Speaking of which, what's are everyone's favorite contests?

Personally, I like Nude Day the best.

I love the whole exhibitionist/voyeur, being nude things. I could write countless stories on that.
