Random Gamer Silliness

Why buy more?

Let's see...I have...25 characters...all of whom have...four or more homes to decorate at a time. So I could buy...what...100 or so of them and still not have one for each house?

I love player housing. There's a lot of stuff you can craft along with each holiday that you can't craft for the rest of the year because the components don't drop off NPC's. For Nights of the Dead it's candy. People really get into this stuff, it's pretty amazing. Players can also submit their own designs for stuff they want in game and other players can buy it. It's sort of like Second Life in the ability to customize your own space in really creative ways. There are forums and websites dedicated to stuff like "I want a bathroom but I don't have a toilet or a toilet paper dispenser" and damned if someone hasn't figured out how to make different non-toilet things that would never occur to me that if you shove it through the wall the right way, it looks exactly like a toilet paper roll...

So players can make their own home décor as well as make dungeons other people can run through. Leaderboards and people paying in-game cash for house decorators.

Examples of stuff you can make from recipes this year:

That's neat but sounds like way too much work. Then again I knew a guy who broke into every house in morrowwind just to steal the pillows. Then he made a giant pillow fort in his house

That is my kinda guy! Like my daughter taking the house in Cheydinhal and dropping every spoon, dish, potion and bit of anything she could find until the X-Box locked up on her and she cheered for a job well done.

Most of my homes are...put that there...and I haven't gotten into really decorating well, but I know how hard it is so I recognize how much work it takes, not to mention how much ingenuity.

People have been begging for bookcases that you can just load books into automatically but so far you have to line them up with ridiculous accuracy and mostly I just have really, really uneven lines of books on the floor.

That's my house in animal crossing. I just throw shit everywhere

I made a dungeon and it's just massively silly, though I did actually get some awards for style. When you go through the dungeon the only reward is experience and "Marks" which you get at the end to buy stuff at the dungeon shop.

So I named everything in the dungeon some variety of "Mark" including Riddermark and Marky Mark and Skid Mark...about 100 of these.

Then there's one group of three called Tom Dick and Harry and one group named Drawing A Blank.

And one boss in the corner with the name of "Spanish Inquisition"

They really will let anybody in. When other people run through my dungeon and vote nice things, I get extra marks.

Damn, I remember that. Might still have the box somewhere.

We love this game and play it a lot. We have a cabin where the tradition is no electronics and we tend to play cards or Talisman and now "Cards Against Humanity"

It is such a royal pain to set up and takes up so much time, I'm really excited to see it.

Yaaaaay! What level and what area and what class are you working on now? I finally have enough gil that when I try crafting again I won't be immediately broke...might take me a coupla days :D

13. I haven't played in a few days. Main class is lance but I think I'm gonna do mage as a secondary

Ulaven has done really well with summoner/scholar and I'm looking to do a DPS class next. I get groups fast as a healer, but I'd prefer some dungeon runs with a little less pressure.

Of course that probably means I'll get crappy healers, but it won't matter as much if I'm in there for exp and not for the story line.

Arcanist is good because as 30 Arcanist and 15 Thaumaturge you qualify for both Summoner and Scholar jobs. So I can queue as DPS or healer.

Plus soloing as a Arcanist and later as Summoner is ridiculously easy with a pet to tank for you.

Gah. Happened to me a lot. Ulaven pointed out that I could adjust the level down and that helped.

I saw that but I chose not to because I figured I could take em. I was doin fine till I got attacked by 3 slugs and a rose bush...

I had problems with those lizard deer things for a while

At least you progress from being beaten up by ladybugs to the scarier stuff. Unless it's the little mice and chinchillas and furballs that kick the crap out of you for the hell of it because it's funny.
