To be fair the fees on insurers don't take effect until 2014. Their cost is already baked into exchange premiums though. And the cadillac plan tax is is 2018 thing I think but it's minor.

Not only that but that's not even how it works. The largest aspects of the ACA's funding is a Medicare tax hike on income over 250k, cost shifting from Medicare savings, and a net investment tax on annual gains over 250k per year.

It FEELS good to her to say that everyone has to pay $3000 so she persuaded herself to believe right wing lying dumbfuckery again. No matter though, she'll look at these facts and just believe her falsehoods even more strongly.

This is how we know we've won.

They can't complain about higher out-of-pocket costs....there aren't any.
They can't complain about lesser coverage...the coverage is there.

They're reduced to yammering "but..but...taxes!", totally overlooking the fact that federal tax rates are at near historic lows.

ACA taxes have been in place for a while. Exchange Plan rates look fine. My family's health insurance premium only went up about 5% and now we can't get dropped if we need health care.

Why would I be unable to afford anything now?

I appear to kind of ramble because I try to see how well meaning ideas actually work in reality. If it looks too good to be true, then it is. What you think is free for you isn't free for someone else.

It is interesting how those who are conservative see it one way and the liberals see it another way.

Instead of just guessing how things will be, perhaps we can all just try and live it, do the best we can to deal with this new federally mandated tax/loss of individual freedom and see where we all are in a year from now.

There is nothing, at this point, that can be done about it. Perhaps at election time in 2014, the truth about this tax/loss of individual freedom will be widely known and the election results will show this!

People such polar opposite views on this and pretty much everything else in this country. There is not one thing that can be done to please everyone. I don't see any way of this country ever coming back together to become a great nation again. I believe we are at the beginning of the end......too much in-fighting to grow stronger.
