I didn't know whether to add a *facepalm* or *headdesk* to my OP. Although since I was at the library, I guess the former would work better.

Unless they're associated with it somehow and are doing some advertising, that's just pretty losery.

On the topic of vanity plates the damn things are not cheap these days and you'd think people would be more clever.

I've had the same one since I was 25 could have put a down payment on a car for what I've paid for them over the last 20 years.

If it was at a library, it was probably a female driver. Very few men go to libraries (imho). I get a lot of books on tape to listen to on the commute to work. Usually (generalisation of course), 80 - 90% female attendance (excluding school kids and bums looking to keep warm).

I wouldn't be surprised about any of that, and I would think the most likely explanation is that mostly, women are still the ones home during the day with the kids. I took my daughter to story time for three or four years, so went once or twice a week and that was mostly women as well.

My dad loves to go to the library, but I bet he has little idea of what 50SoG is. I can see explaining it, and then he'd look puzzled, and then he'd move on.
