For me, it's work and readying myself for both the estate sale this weekend - and those "friends" of my mother that will come and try to give us comfort in our sadness  - and readying myself for jury duty Monday

RJ, sorry I'm not up to speed on what is bringing you sadness, but I wish you happier times.

I'm not sad. She passed. It's a fact of life. I do NOT like those people that I know come to these types of sales just to appear to be sympathetic, to make them look good. My sister might have a difficult time. I know my brother will

I think I am starting to understand the type of daddy/daughter relationship some of you have mentioned...based on unconditional love, adoration, caregiving, etc.

This morning I was waiting for my drink at Starbucks and I watched a father in line with his little girl (she was about 5). He called her "sweetie" as he touched her hair and asked her watch she wanted to eat. There was obviously definitely nothing sexual between the two, but by watching them, I could see that the dad was very caring and protective and that the girl totally adored her daddy. It was very sweet. :)

Yes! Imagine that same love, protection, and adoration in a VERY adult relationship. It isn't for everyone, but when it is right for both then it is pretty amazing. I think you got it :)

Just in the general discussion about daddy/little relationships.... I love my Daddy because I can drop the real world, being responsible, etc with him, and it can just be us taking care of each other. I don't have to be an adult with him and he still respects me.

Still struggling to keep track of everyone who comes here regularly, but hello to everybody! The chatter brightens me up when I've a lot of work on and Daddy's too far away.

oh my god, I had to tell you that my son, who is adjusting to public school, sat me down the other day and said "mommy, we need to find someone to take care of you so that you can continue home schooling me.."

LMAO...

I'm sorry for your loss, RJ. Everyone grieves in there own way and emotions will be fragile, I'm sure.

Hello to you, Sky person! :rose:

Someone liked the one-on-one attention
yes, he did. He both benefited and was disadvantaged by it, I'm afraid. Good new is he is making straight "A's" and the teachers are impressed he has been homeschooled from Day 1.

I'm like, "duh"...he's my kid. Why on earth wouldn't he be smart as a whip. :p

Good evening to all! Friday's over and only one more day until my weekend, such that it is... It's been a trying week, but Angel and I are hanging in there. Things aren't all that great, but they certainly could be a lot worse. Just being together makes us so happy that we're not stressing too much over all the crappy things going on. I learned many years ago, the hard way, to be thankful for the little things in life. :)

"Morning Hugs to ALL from the rainy Midwest. Just want to be on record as saying 04:30 is TOO friggin' early for someone's little rooster alarm clock to go off.....Not saying who mind you but it's good thing he's cute.;) Daddy Mutato that is TERRIBLE about Angel! She's well rid of THAT boss although I understand about being in a financial bind. Check your state's unemployment compensation laws - here I can not only apply but even report in on-line. And was also based on the prior year's earnings. Dapple my sister, so glad you're back - hopefully your recovery will be swift and uneventful and Hayley sweet sister (and INL too) thank you for your good wishes - heading off to brave the day and look for work (and a place to stay). Love and Hugs!"

Thanks, peaches! There's not much we can do except move on. She was only at that job for a month so it sort of falls into the probationary period where her employer can let her go at will and without reason. And she's only been here since the end of July so there's no real history of employment to work with. We're putting it behind us and moving on. She's been working very hard at sending out resumes and applying just about everywhere. Hopefully she'll get something in the next week or so.

Well, whatever the case, it sucks hairballs.

Glad to see you two so happy though! Makes me smile every time I think about it.:rose::heart:

Just stopping by to say hi, it's been a while - me and the hospital have become buddies. I've been there that often.

Hugs to Peaches, Cookie, Hayley, RA, INL, RJ and anyone else that wants one :rose:

It's funny. She really doesn't think of spending my money, even when I've told her it's okay for her to tell me what she wants.
