Latin

I'm no expert in Latin and I haven't studied it enough to hold a conversation but that doesn't stop me from admiring the language. Of the romanticized languages, Latin is my favorite place to explore. It's the way the words have this rolling flow and melodious tone. Something simple can sound majestic and something huge can sound very plain. Many of the words in the English language have a basis in Latin and it's fun to brush off the cobwebs to use the word origin rather than what has become popular in the present. :heart:

On a side note, German and Russian are great for cursing. Everything can be said in a way that sounds like you're raging with a growling spit, hack consonants.

Just a Paragraph, An Idea

Clouded by uncertainty, pushed onwards by a moment of bravery, she pushes open the cracked door and finds a darkling room lite only by the light of a waning fire. The gossipers say that a Beast holds sway within these walls. That there are sounds that trip and scramble over the walls late in the night when any sensible person would be abed. Yet, if she does not take a chance, she would be running away. She would be failing those she loved and her love is stronger than the fear that binds her in it's winding vise.

Favorite Rice

I'm always doing food experiments of one kind or another. I think I have found my favorite mix of rice. As a default, I'm always going to love white rice. But! If I have a choice, I've been making a pot of the following. The measurements are gestiments but close to what I do.

1/2 Cups Wild Sweet Rice
2.5 Cups White Rice
3 Cups Brown Rice

The end result is very filling, flavorful and nomnomnom!

a part of my world with warm colors.

beneath the grey clouding mists,
we will follow the rhythms of an ancient path
that rings from our giddy hearts & celebrates love.

Poem: Liquid Embrace

Lingering in a warm, enveloping liquid embrace,
Listening to rock ballads sing of love in devastating praise.

Sorrow achingly throbs in distant counterpart,
Reaching for memories and emotions the songs once evoked—
Only to feel a stillness void of chaotic love and love’s response,
A calming null that negates right or wrong, it’s all done and gone.

Now, this moment, this hour, this day, mourning burns in dying flames.
What could have been & what has come to be are not aligned to wishful dreams,
Dreams dreamt, yearned for in desperate gravity, no longer exist as remote possibility.
Where once longing, love and cutting actions lived, a mysterious anticipation bids.

I think maybe something like that can be found near the bottom of the mountain.
 
I meant for our rp. An arena for gladiatorial games. It would be an ideal place for lots of stuff happening outside of it: merchants, slave auctions, and more!

Well I hadn't considered the possibility of Danae being purchased since she wouldn't be on the auction block. I was just thinking of a great shopping venue with potential entertainment while visiting another noble.
 
It's a really good idea! I like it. No, I meant that another noble would see Danae and offer to purchase her. Belemin are special slaves afterall.

We can have fun in a large city that has an arena, merchant area, etc. =)
