G'day Beautiful Peeps :)

How are we all?

So, the new P.M...... Good or bad?

Unknown..... but I'm leaning toward bad.
Perhaps we'll be lucky, and enough minorities and Independents will get in to stop the worst of his follies (his ridiculous Paid Parental scheme, for one!)

I'd say Good Morning, but after last nights election result I think 'Mediocre Morning' may be more appropriate

Hi Dom. This part of we is good, how about you?

Can't say I'm thrilled about the PM, but not surprised in the least, let's see how many of those crap policies actually get through.

Righto - we are ready for the big one tomorrow.
Up at 4-30am in order to be ready and down at the hospital at 6-30.
This is it.... the major operation to remove the treated lymph glands from the side of the kidlets neck. Some delicate work as there are two major nerve structures that must be preserved (one controls half the face and the other controls breathing and heart-rate) as well as the two major blood vessels.
I have dealt well with everything else, but this one makes me a little afraid.
We have an excellent surgeon though, so I'm cautiously confident despite my fear.

Hopefully, this is it for the kidley bean.... after this last round of drugs, it should all be over.

To be honest I know next to nothing on Australian Politcs and this new PM.??

Hey Kisses :rose::kiss:

Glad you're all good :)
I'm outstanding thank you although not looking forward to my procedure tomorrow :(

You're having something done as well?
Good luck with it

We're here at the hospital, and there's a bit of a delay as there's been an emergency (car accident) that urgently needed surgery.
I'm told it won't be too long now before he goes in.

It's over.
The kidley came through, but not without a few hiccups. The op took a little longer than expected and his incision is a little bigger than anticipated. He hasn't reacted well to the anaesthesia either, so he's in ICU overnight.
There is some numbness to the side of his face as one of the minor nerves had to be pulled away from the main node and may have a slight nick. It will be months before we know if the feeling will return. But no paralysis (the big fear!) so that's good.

I am exhausted.

Glad it ended up ok, hope it's a complication free recovery now and the numbness isn't permanent. :rose:

Thanx guys :)
I have come home (on advice from the nursing staff) to get some sleep. Just finished feeding the animals etc, and thought I'd go straight to bed..... but then I remembered I hadn't eaten since last night!
Quick tacos - cooking now - and then I may try and stay up for a bit or else I'll be awake at 4am again!

Food is kind of essential to coping with it all WQ... glad you remembered, don't need to be ratshit tomorrow. :)

Just had a call from the kidlet.... he's out of ICU and back on the ward.
But he has to have ob's every half hour all night as his BP crashed and he's had meds to counteract it.

Sadly, the kidley bean seems to take after me - doesn't react well to anaesthesia :(

It's good they're aware... would suck if they were leaving him and just assuming he was fine.

No worries

You've been absolutely amazing, truly, but you need to look after yourself too. You'll be no good if you get sick, so get some good food, good peep and recharge.

Good that he's out of ICU. The full recovery period starts now :)

The nursing staff on the Adolescent Ward are brilliant. I am not worried at all about his aftercare..

He's young, extremely fit, and otherwise healthy so it shouldn't be an issue.
What's going to kill him is not being able to excercise or lift weights for 6 weeks!

So here I am at the hospital, only to hear that the kidley has made a great recovery overnight :D Good news!
Because of that, he may be allowed home today!

And now for the not-so-good..... driving down this morning, I had the car in front of me crash thro the barrier and roll down the hill into the vineyard. I stayed with the couple who were trapped in the car until the police turned up, and then they let me leave to get down here.... but I have a cop coming up to the house this evening to take my statement.
I think the driver must have had a health issue to cause the accident as it was on a straight stretch of road, dry conditions, and no debris or anything.
Plus, the couple were elderly.

After reading your comment you posted earlier, it sounds like he'll be back on the weights in no time....awesome!!!!! :D

Yeah, well, I wasn't expecting that this morning!

Been home for a while.... the kidley is resting and I am cooking chicken noodle soup as he is very sore around his jaw and can't eat much.

That is to be expected I guess. He will be right though with his awesome Mummy looking out for him :)
