Im taking a break from MrFixit work around the house. Scanning some threads, enjoying some coffee and music, and catching a couple innings of the game before rewiring a ceiling fan. Yuk. At least I got a nice bike ride in early before the sun came up.

Yes it sure is quiet. And I am having a quiet day after a busy but fun Friday and Saturday. Watching Shaun of the Dead. I think its hilarious. Reading some threads and basically being lazy before the work weeks begins again.

Another busy weekend for me, getting my daughter ready for school this Wednesday, doing last minute shopping... whee... not! One day off a week tends to go very quickly.

Good morning INL, Serene, and all of the rest of the bunch! Mutato, sorry I missed you the other evening....we havent met, its a pleasure. You come highly regarded.

Im excited to make some ravioli tonight. I havent had time to make fresh pasta in almost a month, and I started a batch of ricotta yesterday morning so it is ready. Basil and thyme from the garden, quick grind of nutmeg and white pepper, brown eggs, grated pamegano Reggiano, and last week's leftover mozz. Not sure about the sauce yet. I was going to do brown butter but someone shot me a text about canning and tomato this time of year has a very concentrated flavor so....?

Thinking about dinner is always a good problem for me to have!

" A girl in my class said a bad word to me."

"A bad word? What did she say?"

"She said 'fuck.'"



I knew they'd get vocabulary in school, but holy smokes!!! I went over how it was not a very nice thing for a six year old to say and reminded him not to repeat it. Good Grief...

RA, I am glad it went well other than that word.

It is one of the reasons why I home school.

We do have co-op and field trips, play dates,

but we hang out with ultra conservative Christians

and I have to say, the kids are just wonderful.

So thoughtful and kind.

Hopefully it was a one time thing.
